For all the talk about how will Asik & Howard co-exist in the starting lineup, people never seemed to mention that as a rookie, Howard shared the starting lineup with Kelvin Cato.

So in hindsight rockets didn't have to amnesty scola knowing Dwight would inevitably come Houston as a FA.

Along with money ... We want scola back!

Most of our former players have always been positive about Houston.

If any of you youngsters were wondering what the "Somebody tell kelvin Cato, we want our money back" reference, it was a lyric in a rap song about the Rockets giving Cato that big contract after one preseason game and not living up to it.

I think this is what is being lost in this thread. It seems the Rockets, contrary to popular belief, treat their player and coaches pretty well. I don't know another franchise that doesn't have as rich a history as the Knicks, Celtics, Lakers that former employees rep after their tenure with the franchise has been terminated. Players that have been traded, coaches that have been fired, still love Houston and adopt the city as their home.

I wonder when Adelman finally steps down will he hold the Rockets and Houston in the same regard as everyone else.

Well, that Magic team did finish with a 36-46 record so I'm not sure if that's a validation or not.

I find it interesting that he was a part of the trade that brought Houston it's last ex-Magic star in TMac. Funny how the NBA works and the circle of player movements.

I'm not sure how well Olajuwon thought Houston treated their big men during the Charlie Thomas era.

I don't care who told Dwight what first. The only thing I some what cared about is who was most responsible in bringing him here.

    Asik & Howard > Cato & Howard > Cato & Yao!

People forget that we made the playoffs in JVG's first year starting Cato at PF next to Yao, along with Steve, Cat, and Jim Jackson. Yikes!

And while I think that Cato was overpaid compared to his skill level, at least he was a legitimate 7 footer who could rebound and give hard fouls. Mo Taylor was a bigger waste of money in my opinion. We had to trade his worthless butt for Vin Baker and Moochie Norris.
