Kelly Iko: The Rockets are not interested in breaking up their core for Giannis Antetokounmpo

Lamelo is who I want. Big fan of his. This diva notion is preconceived. Reckless on the court...yes. But he's extremely confident and tries his best. He's well liked in the organization and plays with lots of joy

At least he somewhat "apologized" and corrected himself, a year later.

I'm concerned about his durability. He's missed a ton of games every season except one (21-22). Other than that he would be a good fit on paper.

How about De'Aaron Fox if the Kings decide to make a change? His shooting has really come a long way and offense has never been the problem for the Kings when he's on the court. We have our own possibly better version of Sabonis and we have the team defense to surround Fox and Sengun with that Sac has never had.

 

What tactic? If you are involved in trade talks and make that phone call that means you’re interested. Rockets still have leverage since they have a winning record while bucks have declined

I think the most coveted player on the Rockets around the NBA is Amen Thompson. The Bucks want at least Amen for Giannis, and I think the Rockets have Amen as untouchable.

 

Obviously they would explore options but I would hate losing 2 core guys out of the Amen, Tari & Sengun trio.

 

Bari, Brooks, Cam and picks.

Take it or leave it Bucks.

That is truly one to be concerned about. Fox would be a great acquisition also depending on price

 

Interest isn't the same conversation as available package. I can tell you, it would be asinine for the Rockets to make a trade and turn themselves into the Bucks. So that won't happen which means none of the 7 player rotation (Starters + Terror Twins) will be moved. The goal is to trade and improve which mean that core 7 plus + Giannis. I could see maybe only ONE of that 7 but that's it.

That said, it means that the Picks, Cam, Reed, + filler, are all on the table. Rockets would do any and all version of that trade I'm sure. Not sure the Bucks would considering there are a few teams who might offer more like OKC, Spurs, GSW, Pels (own Bucks picks), BKN, MIA, etc...

Like most of these trades, need two to tango, so it would take a Rockets pick package plus Cam/Reed along WITH Giannis forcing his way to Rockets so Bucks comply.

The other hurdel though, I don't see him wanting to go West when he can walk to the ECF with BKN or MIA. West is a gauntlet.
