yeah pretty close percentages but you have to remember volume is important when comparing shooting stats. Mathews volume is way higher, a lot of his shots were closely contested
Obviously, but I expect more from a guy that brings nothing else to the table. The point is this, KJ Martin had a right to be pissed off. Garry was almost out of the damn league and even thought about quitting. No way he should be keeping KJ off the floor. (Especially when we are tanking/developing...)
Would like to see Matthews pkgd with EG for a legit back up big and a 1st. Then give Matthews min to KJ.
Fine with Tate backing up Tari. Especially if he has improved his 3. Would like to see KJ back up Jabari. If we could send EG, Gary and possibly Nwaba for a back up big and future 1st it would balance out the roster big time. KPJ, Nix, TyTy Green, JC Tari, Tate Jabari, KJ Sengun, Legit Backup, Garuba Mos Definitely
I'm not. I see no use for a 6'4 forward who can't shoot, isn't a creator....but thinks he is. If you want an undersized SF, just give those minutes to Josh Christopher, he brings more to the table than Tate.
Mathews is SG/SF - a pure wing. KJ is a SF/PF just like Tate. Like Jabari. Like Eason. The mins overlap between Mathews and KJ is minuscule, so trading Mathews does almost nothing to free up minutes for KJ.
Yeah it's surreal actually to me. KJ is up by the top of the shooters square! Strange how for some its no big deal! On another note I ran into some buzz about Jalen having a 51" vertical. That is eye raising, but is it even possible? Crazy.
Still cannot believe what I'm seeing here. KJ's head is at 10 foot mark. If Green can get higher than that I would be flabbergasted.
If KJ learns how to, wants to and becomes at least average on defense, he will get the PT he wants. If not, he's going to be guy #9 or 10 or 11 off the bench and Tari will take his time. RIGHT NOW, its not clear to me what KJ does better than Tari, but we'll see. In any case, I'm not moving him unless floored by an offer.
I don't get how Tate is terrible but Martin should be a starter. Tate hustles more and Martin does fancier dunks. Eason zero NBA minutes. Martin being mad that Mathews got minutes is plausible. Martin being mad that Tate got minutes is kinda silly. Eason starts consistently playing better than CF.net underappreciated Tate then he's in ROTY talks. Calling HIM a starter at this point in time is outrageous.
Martin can shoot and play above the rim. Tate is like a slightly taller, thicket Patrick Beverley with no handle who can't shoot or create for himself or others. Effort only carries you so far.
Tate is a bad shooter. He's too small to play the 4 but not a good enough shooter playing outside. With Jabari on board and Sengun starting, he won't get a lot of minutes playing the 4 and will be competing minutes with Martin and Eason. Martin is a slightly better shooter. That's not saying much. And he is not as consistent on the defensive end. That's why he didn't get a firm role. He is a better slasher than Tate (all those fancy dunks ). Both guys aren't really starter materials. They'd be the 8th or 9th guy on a good team. Martin is young and still has upside. If he has good work ethic, he can still improve. Tate is pretty much what he is. Eason looks like a guy with much better skillset. My prediction is that he will eat away both Tate and Martin's minutes and eventually get the starting job. It will be very disappointing if he doesn't.
