Rafer's +/- numbers are artifiicially boosted this year by the fact that he plays pretty much the whole game and has a statistically lousy back up in spanoulis. His rather crappy 13.1 PER is a lot more indicative of the kind of season he's having. I don't know what his TS% is this year but it's got to be a joke.
http://www.orlandosentinel.com/spor...mside1706dec17,0,6870065.story?coll=orl-magic As I keep on saying, all Rafer needs is a decent backup. Diener is a low-risk acquisition.
LOL. Are you allowed to use your tongue in basketball? Jar Jar could break all the stealing records. That said, I'd rather have Jar Jar play PF for us. Juwan for Jar Jar anyone?
its funny how people come to easy conclusions when Rafer plays ****ty, trade him? when he's at his best, praise the god! what can we say about VSpan or Lucas, not much! they did not play as many minutes as rafer did....did they do more or less then Rafer? maybe, maybe not, we don't know yet! so please, stop using other PG names until they have played 20-30 games at least 20 min each.... and both just came into the league look at rafers numbers! http://www.nba.com/playerfile/rafer_alston/career_stats.html how about we discuss his first 4 years!? look at his 3 point percentage! damn it, Rafer has been 7 years in this league, he is a decent player doing what the coach asks him to do....his shot is awful! but hey! win now is our situation, and risking games playing rookies is a little bit dumb....
Uhh...I'm pretty sure them not playing at all means Rafer is better. Even with TMac and Snyder out they are not playing. I'm also pretty sure that JVG knows what everyone can do. Rafer is generally a pretty crappy starting PG and VSpan and Lucas are generally pretty crappy backups. We can hope the young guys develop for next year and beyond, but right now they provide little.
It could be done, but only in a gigantic trade that would help Sacramento get Iverson. Such a scenario would probably net us a power forward that doesn't suck (SAR, Kenny). But the trade would be so complicated as to go back to your original comment: "I wish there were a way." Unlikely. But this thread does point out how badly the team misses a playmaker.
