I rather see a lineup of:

    Yao
    Hayes
    Novak
    Head
    Lucas/Spanoulis

starting the Cliippers game on Sunday. You can't expect to throw out the same starting 5 that has blown back-to-back double digit leads to win.

the simple fact is that the rockets don't have any other PG's on the team. rafer does do a good job of keeping TO's down and getting the team into an offensive set EARLY in the shot clock. he is also good at bringing the ball up against pressure.

any decent PG should be able to do the same thing. the problem is we only have one...him. when he's out the team struggles a bit because you can't play basketball without a PG.

Rafer is the worst starting pg in the league. Name me one team he would start for in this league.

He didn't do a good job at any of those things against the Lakers. In fact, he was downright terrible.

I guess we should give the Lakers some credit. They're one of the top teams in forcing turnovers. They forced Nash into some really bad turnovers in the playoffs last year.

rafer fell in love w/ the 3pt shot after finding himself open A LOT! in last night's game....i found myself yelling: 'rafer should not shoot! he needs to attack....luther should not handle the ball, he needs to shoot!!!'

rafer attacked the basket and got some layups over the lakers big men.....and if he didn't make it, he got fouled. so when the ball rotates over to him, rafer needs to pump fake and drive. actually, rox ran the screen 'n roll w/ raf and yao that opened up the lane for the rox. they should run that more often. raf IS the best ball handler we have.....i trust him setting up the offense more than any rocket, except for tmac.

once the easy shots fall.....he'll be more confident w/ the 3 ball.

Billy is a much worse three point shooter than Rafer, I'm talking Ryan Bowen bad. He provides no more advantage in spreading the floor over Rafer and he turns the ball over more. John John has always been a scoring pg, not a passing pg. He may be more helpful with T-Mac out when scoring is hard to come by, but he's hardly the point guard to enhance Yao's game.

Let's also point out that on the run at the beginning of the season Rafer was the fourth quarter scoring catalyst when things got tight in several games.

Span by far is the most worse guard in the league.
If you can find another one worse than him, please tell me. I would like to know who?

It seems like Rafer's bench-time often overlaps with Yao. That might bias the plus/minus. (I'm sure there's a way to look into that, statistically, but I'm too lazy.)

    Uhh......

"I think if Yao Ming was on my team, we'd probably have a 100 per cent chance of winning an NBA championship," Iverson said.

this guy knows what he is talking about......rafer is holding this team down. we should at least try starting jlIII or v-span. rafer sux, i think he is jacking up more threes than any other player in the league right now, and he misses way to many. you would think the guy would realise he is not a good three point shooter and try something else  . i dont see how he keeps doing the same things after he has watched game tapes of himself its perplexing oh well mabyee he will get hurt :D .
