Normally one wood say Kelly has let the fumes from his soulglow affect his judgement, but he us spot on right now, the question is who which Kobe combo you would take, shaq-Fu or Pau?

Shaq in 2000 may very well have been the best player in NBA history, when you account for competition and pace.

You can't be seriously comparing Pau with Shaq in his prime, I hope. There is no comparison. Perhaps you are too young to remember. J

He's shooting 5% better in Lakers, that's not similar numbers, that's 10% more efficient.

Effiency can be attributed to having the one of the best coach in the league and one of the most stacked teams in the league. Theoretically the better your team is the higher your efficiency will be, since instead of being focus of attention every single possession you can now play off of other people.

Not sure how that constitutes to Kobe's leadership skills. By the same token, you can argue that Gasol also made Kobe better, especially since Kobe wasn't nailing game winners left and right before he arrived in town.

In 3+ seasons with the Lakers, Gasol has:

    23.1 PER, 60.9 TS%, 18.6 pts + 10 reb + 3.4 ast + 1.4 blks per 36 minutes

In 3+ preceding seasons with Grizzlies, Gasol had:

    22.6 PER, 57.4 TS%, 19.6 pts + 8.7 reb + 3.5 ast + 1.8 blks per 36 minutes

"Similar numbers" is fair. He's been more efficient with LA, did more scoring with the Grizzlies.

I do think Kobe's presence has been a helped him a lot, though. And vice versa.

Yeah, but that's comparing Kobe in his prime to MJ in his first 3 seasons in the league.

Gasol is way better than Pippen, and it was pre-prime Jordan.

If you're gonna argue dishonestly, then why even argue? I doubt you even bought that one.

Cut the bull****, Pippen was one shot away from ECF as the alpha dog. He's in greatest 50 for a reason.

I was comparing with the years Memphis made the playoffs-2004/05 and 2005/06
    Stretching?
Dahntay Jones and Battier weren't there for their offense. Defensively those were and still are two excellent wing players.
It's the same Stro Swift that the Rockets gave a 4yr 22mill contract to.
Lorenzen Wright was worse than Kwame in what way? Stats wise cos his 04-05 stats were pretty similar. On-court smarts? I doubt it.
In 04-05 Brian Cardinal averaged 9ppg in 24minutes and 58 games.
Perhaps losing in the 05/06 first round is excusable but seriously getting swept in 04/05 and 05/06 wtf? Pau's Memphis roster is not a valid excuse for that because they should have been good enough to win at least one game both years.
