Harden didn't cause the Chris Paul injury. He didn't miss 27 3's in a row. He didn't get calls from the refs.

Why does that mean Harden alone is the choker?

ESPN is about hero ball. It's just easier for the media to talk about one guy than the whole team.

If you saw the playoff stats.

Harden always started out each playoff series with 44 or 41 points in the first game. Then the opponent guarded him better.

It's true Harden never reached the same level of stats as he did in Game 1 of each series, but his stats were still elite. 28/6/6 as a heavy underdog is as good as anybody in the NBA.

And once again...these are things that no other star in the NBA is criticized for. If others were held to the same standard, then sure, it'd be fine. But that's not the case.

James Harden may go down as one of the greatest chokers.....Then again he may not! Doesn't take much for bspn to make a segment for the airwaves does it?!

Yeah, let’s call the guy whose teams frequently advance deep into the playoffs a choker.

Meanwhile, another recent MVP who is supposedly all about “heart” and “killer instinct” loses in the first round every year.

I get it but like in any big Hollywood movie.

A good villain gets as much screen time as the hero and at times hoards the bigger credit.

Harden’s a “choker,” but we got guys like AD who can’t even make the playoffs most of the time who get absolutely no criticism

so many in the media think AD>Harden, yet Harden is held to a much higher standard and receives far more criticism...

exactly. i'm tired of it tbh. its not just the media though. I hear people from Houston with the same criticisms. he doesnt get the credit he deserves as being an all time great. the organization has failed him by not putting enough talent around him so he gets called a choker.

lol what a stupid thing to say. Harden is NOT a choker. T-Mac is a choker for sure, but Harden has led his team to several deep playoff runs, and although he has had some really bad playoff games, it isn't his fault that he's not the most explosive athlete with elite size. Regardless, the dude has made the absolute most of his talents, and continues to add something new every off season.

Dude is a great teammate and a consummate professional. He doesn't whine or complain, just goes out and plays ball.

In conclusion, if someone who has led their team to several deep runs while putting up insane stats, has won an MVP, and if not for a injury to CP3 against arguably the greatest roster ever, could very well have been a champ is a choker, then so be it.

What an idiot. Max clearly isn’t a basketball guy.

It’s beyond stupid how people try to rag on Houston’s “failures” as if any team besides the Warriors and Cavs have reached the finals the past 4 years

F what every one says. Harden has given his all to the Rockets year in and year out. If it weren't for a historically great team like the Warriors coming out of nowhere, Harden would have multiple MVPs and at least one ship by now.

If Harden is a Choker, then so is every other player that hasn't won a championship in the Warriors Era. Especially, considering there are much more physically talented players out there that haven't even sniffed the success Harden, (looking at you Paul George, Russell Westbrook, Blake Griffin, Carmelo Anthony, etc...) has had...
