Keeping wood was a bigger mistake than signing theis

The whole squad is too small & soft. It's the main reason they suck so bad defensively & get killed on the boards when it matters. This is on Stone. You can't take tall people out of professional basketball. Running Gordon out there routinely as a 6'3 frontcourt player is just stupid. And the Rockets haven't gotten the memo. They need size and toughness.

It's TBD. We may move Wood in the off season and get a nice package.

Theis is a wash since we've already replaced his contract with an expiring one.

I don't like him at all honestly, but I'm just saying that if he has to stay on this team for whatever reason (still makes no sense why they didn't do the Wall/Wood for Russ/Filler/pick deal) I don't want him in any way to think he's the alpha dog.... which is what has happened this season, and why he's getting more and more comfortable blowing off plays to go one on five.

Wall's presence in some way could have helped peg him down a bit on the totum pole, and I have no confidence that Wall would be making this team win more games, and stay healthy. Even hurt on the bench, if he was playing sometimes or did early on, would have given him the chance to act as the alpha.

Of course this all just speaks mostly to Sila's soft best bud approach to coaching. I don't think Tillman will pony up to pay for a new coach anytime soon so I just assume we are stuck with Mr. Softee.

I was PREACHING this since the beginning of the Morey era. Morey loved small players; Aaron Brooks, Lutherhead, Joey Dorsey, Chuch Hayes, Carl Landry, etc, etc.

Basketball is a sport which constitutes height, length. If Morey would've surrounded T-Mac and Yao with players with height instead of those short players, they could've won a Championship. Other teams would beat up on T-Mac and Yao and wear the other players down. After not learning his lesson with those two, he turned around and did the same thing with Harden....SMALL BALL DOES NOT WORK!

Now, Stone is doing the same thing. A smaller player may have more skill BUT in the playoffs after 82 games and in a 7-game series, they woren out, ineffective! You need elite shooting but you need some muscle and size inside.

Nice write up. As far as other FO, they do see it, which is why when considering fit, Montrez, Theis, Bagley, and Sabonis all got dealt before Wood. The only GM who might not see the empty stats might be our own.

Was listening to a king analyst speak on Bagley to Pistons. Marvin also slips a lot, 'an offensive center' he called it. Having Sabonis who set actual screens is night and day he said.
