tmac is not worth $20M+ period.

you can get 2 players at $10M to double his production.

    why keep him?

yeah i prefer t-mac jacking up shots over ron jacking the same shot, but anyway if we can get some talent from trading t-mac then do it. if not lets see if the "big 3" can be healthy as least around the playoffs.....

Without Ron Artest we won't be as tough bottom line. We will only get better with trading him for a better player but that's tough in itself .

If you still believe in a healthy T-Mac!!
In top of his health, two losses after leading 2-0!!

It is why I was in favor of trading him at the trade deadline and why I think Morey blew it by not doing it.

Who was traded at the deadline for a ~$6m expiring contract that is better than Ron Artest?

Not sure, but just because no one was traded does not mean no one was available.

And why would it have to be only the $8.5 million Ron is being paid, you could have packaged a contract with him to up the ante....

    Rocket's salaries

I think we lessoned our chances of getting value for him.....because now, it is about who wants him, and I am not sure that Ron is going to like the answer to that question.

I doubt his value is going to be close to what he THINKS it is...

Be real , what players are we going to get by trading TMAC that will make this team better than L.A. and San Antoino?

Keep Tmac and let him rest up. We already know we can make it to the playoffs without him. Some of the trades i hear for tmac are just sick. Just keep him, let him roll of the bench for a bit when time comes but my god dont trade him for trash

May you answer this one question for me please.. How do you know that they can't play together??? They haven't really played together to find out if their games mesh with one another. Or are you saying they don't work together because of another poster's opinion

I have to say im with you on this one. I've been saying this since day 1 of the Rockets offseason. We should keep everyone together. It is the last year of McGrady's contract and Yao's last year basically. If it doesn't work then blow it up. I like how your thinking. The rockets waited this long might as well wait one more year.

Just sick of the garbage people post with no name people to trade Tmac for.
Atleast trade the guy for someone who averages 18+ a game.

Knowning Houston's luck, we trade Tmac and he just goes somewhere playing out of his mind and we get trash for him.

doesn't that always happen. Traded Boki and he went off on the Nets. Traded Francis and the next year he went off with Orlando. Cat went off with the Clippers for a little while. It always happens. I guarantee if they traded McGrady he is going to go off on another team also.

But how can you say that without knowing what Ron's contract will be? We assume, based on logic and common sense, that no team will be stupid enough to overpay crazy pills, but every off season has a few desperate general managers who start throwing money around like drunken sailors, and Morey would be foolish to get into that type of bidding war, and Morey is anything but foolish.

Still, if we start seeing Western conference teams reloading (like SA just did), Morey might have no choice, but let's hope it doesn't come to that.

hey guys how about we do this trade and it's a realistic one to no fantasy... rockets want top 20 pick right? trade carl landry , and kyle lowry to the pistons for amir johnson and their #15 pick in the draft.... i think this is a good trade... go after a backup pg maybe jason williams can be white chocolate for 15-20 minutes and sign antonio mcdyess to back-up yao look at the line-up.... brooks, t-mac, artest, scola, yao and then the bench j-will, wafer, battier, johnson, and mcdyess thats a pretty solid line-up dont you think?? :D

Tracy did nothing but hurt the team last season both on the court and off it with his media circus. Even if you get two serviceable players for him you have made huge strides. Hell, just getting him out of here is addition by subtraction but it's also nice to a genius of a GM who is privy to info that the fans don't have. Stop the "name a guy" game when we all know that so much is going on under the table that whoever we get in return for Tmac will be someone most people are not expecting.

You need to understand that the guy will not be a Rocket soon and that's a good thing. Keep dreaming about him coming back and suddenly being a healthy player with a completely different mindset than he has had his entire career but it is only a dream.

No to Tracy. He burnt us last season. From what I’ve heard on sports talk and read in other news articles is we were about to clear the deal with the Nets to get Vince Carter and he decided to have the surgery to throw a wrench in the deal. I know I have no proof, but from his past actions would you not put it past him? Imagine if we would have had a go to guy in game 7 of the Lakers.

Look be honest, if you knew Tmac before he came to houston, than you knew he has an attitude or ego. But his skills are far advance than most NBA players. Guy was hurt this season and still put up 15+

It definitely sounded like there was an imminent deal and he screwed the Rockets when he found out. I believe Bill Simmons even mentioned it and he and Morey are pals.
