I would love to ship Battier but isn't that how we got ripped off in the Rudy Gay deal?? Win now with Batman!! Hope their is another team to sucker him in!!
I hope we keep Artest...i really think once playoffs begin, we are going to need his help, with the half-court offense and of course i know the defense will pick up with the intensity...trading Ron would be a mistake unless we know for sure we are not going to resign him next year... Chilcutt p.s no to magette he is a BALL HOG
like the 3rd time you've changed your mind. but any whose why wouldnt you have just shopped shane in the first place. ive been saying three of our five starters need to go before artest is an option. shane rafer and landry for hinrich and noah
First, Very few teams want/need Battier. Second, the teams that want/need him would not give up anyone we need(PG?!).
Ok, let me clarify my position. If Tmac is ok, trade Ron they don't fit together. If Tmac is out permanently, trade Shane. Each one is a different situation and requires a different solution. Clear? DD
Oh my bad... Just realized this thread is based on the assumption that Tmac is out for this season. Then yes, lets trade battier. However, its not easy to trade him.
Not only is he on the block, the Warriors would give him away if they could to get out of his contract. I dont think there is a team in the league that wants to pay him 50 million over 5 years, and I surely hope the Rox wouldnt consider that. I dont get it DD. You bash Tmac for not playing and then you want a guy who in 9 seasons (not counting this year), has played in over 70 games only three times.
That is a curveball.....If Tmac has a chance of coming back, then I would still trade Ron because I don't think the team is going to resign him. But if Tmac is definitly out....keep Ron and trade him in a S&T this summer. DD
I would keep Ron unless we can get a proven scorer like Vince Carter. I don't want to count on TMac being healthy. Ron is the second scorer we need, and he does play better without TMac.
I think we are better off if we trade TMac for Marbury at this point. At least Marbury can keep sitting on the bench without having any negative impact on this team.
The team needs a few tweaks here and there but nothing major. Trade Luther for a guy who is a known scorer...especially off the bench. I still think we haave a good core in Ron/tracy/Yao, at least for this year. Ron was a bargain...let's let it pan out first.
You need to stop cutting and pasting the same post into every thread you visit. Regardless of content, that is a terrible spamming practice. On to the content, your idea is dumb. Stay away from Marbury at all costs. Sometimes less is more. In this case, less is way more.
$23 million less next summer (T-Mac's final contract) is way more? i can think of a lot of ways for the Rockets to spend $23 million. we can trade for Marbury and tell him to stay away just like he has been doing thus far.
My apologies, this is a legitimate point. Although, there may be other options available as well (like .... ????). I had assumed that you were advocating using Marbury to "fill a need on our roster at PG" to which I was experiencing chills and shakes. But yeah, I don't think NY will bite though, because of the extra year and the extra money. If we're gonna pick up Marbury only to let him sit, and save $20m, why can't NY do the same?
Yea we need a quality point guard, a guy to spread the ball around. We don't need a scorer though IMO we have scorers in Yao, Artest, Scola, Tmac??. Just a guy who can run the O and not turn it over a lot...so basically we need Rafer to not feel obligated to shoot... if open then yes but never otherwise... I think Rafer plays better without Tmac, which comes back to my recurring argument. Start Yao, Landry, Artest, Wafer, Alston. Let Scola, Hayes, Battier, Tmac, and AB come off the bench. I know Scola doesn't deserve being benched but I think his low post game can flourish with Yao out. I also agree that we need to trade Shane for whatever we can get.
