You guys are in complete delusion with this 'patchwork' mentality. This team is going nowhere and it would be beyond stupid to retain Artest at this point. Our only chance at a title this year was in the 20% chance T-Mac reverted to last year's form. The other 80% won out. This season is over. Whether we could compete for the 2nd round is irrelevant. If you're not contending, you're wasting your time, especially if you're doing it by retaining a future free agent with value (Artest). It's time to trade everyone because the experiment is over.
I seem to remember we beat the Celtics on their home court this season without T-mac. Have some faith and just wait and see negative nancy.
Yes, because winning one game against the Celtics is indicative of contender potential. Sorry for the rational reasoning. By all means, let's hold on to a guy we anticipate not resigning in the summer for the odd chance we might sniff the second round.
http://blogs.chron.com/jeromesolomon/2009/02/post_74.html Solomon claims the Rockets aren't interested in Hinrich.
I don't disagree with your reasoning but they aren't moving artest in a rebuilding trade before the 19th. if they dealt him it would be for a star in return. They aren't going to blow things up in 8 days.
I completely agree but we wont be able to get any value for shane everyone knows now that he cant defend the same way he use to and we always knew he didnt have much offense
i would trade Ron all the more. We need a potent scorer now. If we can prey VC from the Nets, id hand them artest and anyone else on this team not named yao/scola. but if we cant get vc, then im willing to settle for a battier + hayes + head trade for mike miller + madsen. We need a veteran SG and i dont think wafer's ready for the big time yet.
Artest can and will score. He's done it his entire career. Now he will get all the shots and opportunity he needs.
I agree. I think Battier is on the down hill slide. He still gives great effort but he can't move like he used to, and he provides very little on offense. If we can get anything of value I say pull the trigger,
i wont deny that, but im not liking the way he's been playing with the rockets so far. he's inconsistent offensively and hasnt been that good defensively. since we've been sucking defensively nowadays, we need someone to just power us offensively. and VC is the only guy that fits the bill that might be gettable. also, like i keep saying in other threads, do you think morey would offer him big $$$? DM doesnt overpay people, and Ron's not gonna be happy with what's gonna be on the table this offseason. so we trade him now and get something in return. or you can keep him, hope we win it all and then let him go. because im sure Ron would not get that fat contract he wants with DM being the GM.
this makes the rockets so desperate i feel like we could send artest and battier for VC, i hope thats the case, hes playing at a high level. something has to be done or this season is done before the playoffs and lets just say because of this we dont make the playoffs its gona be a sad story
gsw has a lot of winfs. I also would move shane for a guy like radmanovich. He's 3/4 type and he spreads the floor. 28, 2 yr contract and he's 6'10. Better offensive player than shane, played in a passing offense. Cabbage, I agree with u that after the season, they need to trade rafer, yao, and let artest go and start over. The 1st team on the rolodex is Portland. Yao for Oden, pryzbilla, and outlaw.
