speaking of John Connor, I always thought durvasa was one of these Spoiler ...or atleast some complex program. It just made sense, he doesn't eat meat, doesn't believe in God, and believes all things can be proven through statistical analysis. I was wrong. He believes in the curse. He is human.
You ain't see nothing from Artest yet. Artest has something all other Rockets don't have. The fire and the competitive nature and the will to take over any game. Especially in the Playoffs. You know, some players are just better playing under pressure, under big games, and Artest is one of those players. I wouldn't trade him for anyone else.
No disrespect to tinman and duravsa (especially tinman, whom I have grown fond off over the years in a strictly "Rockets of Christmas Past" sorta way), but no discussion of the "JHo Curse" should EVER be brought up without mention of the countless posts/threads offered up by Zboy over the years that have proven, beyond a shadow of doubt (to me at least), that Juwanaman (or Juan Howard, as Zboy used to call him) was the root of all evil in the world, certainly for the Rockets. If you have time, and you have use of the search function, go back and read through all the Juwan Howard-related posts by Zboy over the years. Pure comic gold. Here you go: http://bbs.clutchfans.net/search.php?searchid=121951&pp=25&page=1
Howard was a pro while he was here, but the guy literally feasted off the double teams yao and mcgrady commanded night in night out. Luis is the guy this year doing the feasting, but atleast he's only counting 3 mill against our cap instead of whatever ridiculous number juwon was taking up.
When Juwan was a starer, he was taking alot of shots away from Yao with his flat jumper. When the Rockets recognized that he was not worthy of being a starter, that's when he was productive as a bench player. Don't jinx Scola like that dude.
I am not a superstitious person at all. I like numbers and predictability. But the curse of Juanaman is undeniable fact. Great job tracking the root of evil for the organization...
I think we should stay put. Not really superstitious, but deep down I have some hope (or superstition?) that things will get better, including chemistry after the trade deadline. The Rockets will improve slightly and end up #3 and #4 and then improve incredibly the playoffs. I think that is the safest move. If it fails, then they have TMac's expiring contract to really get good next season.
2 years after trading Juwan -- season-ending surgery for Yao, and now season-ending surgery for McGrady. Rockets, heed my advice. Let the curse expire with Artest's contract. Stay pat.
by this logic, anyone signed with the money saved from ron's expiring contract is still a direct descendent from howard's contract.
No, that's not how it works. The curse is tied to the contract itself (or any contracts/picks/trade exceptions/cash we get in exchange for it), not the money that would be needed to pay for it.
omg how did i miss this fantastic thread? thanks for bumping it! and great humor durvusa, I am surprised not many people backed u up on this.
