Garcia is more dependable on the court than Delfino. He's a excellent defender and 3point shooter. He fits this team's need. So hopefully they can sign him...
Wonder what it would take to get Pau for a one year rental if we cant sign CP3? That way we remain flexible moving into next off season with Asik, Lin and Parsons with a year left to see if that core is enough with Harden while we see if one of the young PF's grow enough
don't worry about it. Garcia will be a FA since 6mil eats up too much cap. On the market, he'll get a contract 3-4mil per year. The Rockets then have to decide whether to sign him to that. same with Delfino. Despite what they showed, their roles are easy to replace, particularly if you trust Morey's talent of finding the right palyers.
I do believe Garcia is worth bringing back for a modest salary. He wants to stay apparently too. We'd be lucky to have him.
http://blog.chron.com/ultimaterocke...ia-wants-to-return-if-he-fits-in-rockets-cap/ How could you not want to keep this man.
Delfino had been playing with a bad foot and shoulder for weeks before the playoffs began. It's why his shooting had slumped.
Delfino has horrid shot selection and he's a streaky shooter on top of that. That being said, 3 mil per year for a rotation player is still pretty cheap -- I'd say it's 50/50 on resigning him. Garcia will go.
3 point specialist who shoots a merely above-average 37% from 3, bad from everywhere else on the floor, and turnover prone. A poor rebounder as well.
I read somewhere that with Delfino's injury the healing time would be 4 to 6 months. Would he be ready in time for next season? With that ? mark, I would think the Rockets would let him go. I hope they retain Garcia -- didn't realize his option was that much though.... Have a feeling they will go with Door No 3 >.>
Garcia and Delfino are a bit redundant, and Delfino is going to take awhile to recover. If we can get Garcia for cheap then I'm all for keeping him over Delfino. He has better shot selection, and most importantly he knows his role and won't try to do too much with the ball and end up getting stripped.
Delfino might not even be back next season with his fractured foot. Not to mention he has issues with his shoulder as well. Garcia is a much better alternative. I hope we can work out a deal to sign him for a reasonable contract.
I love having DEFiiiiiiiiiiNoooooo on the team as well as Garcia. I think they are necessary to build that chemistry and act as the glue to keep this team on the right path for the years ahead.
You build role players after you get the big pieces. Delfino is easily replaceable. Garcia's D will be missed but replaceable.
