Own the Astros. Nothing like ending every day at the office with a ball game. I'd own the Rockets during baseball offseason.
I used to want to be an NBA beat writer. That was my ultimate dream job. Now I'd say it's changed to a public relations/press writing job with the Rockets. But since I know it's not likely, I would settle for a decent PR job at some company, so that I can make enough to take a nice vacation every couple years.
Nicely put. Somewhat like Deck, I'm enjoying my dream job now. But they say the grass is always greener... So...a really good guitar player (in a band), photographer, and anything with a self-contained underwater breathing apparatus on my back
I'm pretty happy with my current job. But I think teaching is definitely something that everyone has thought about doing at one time or another. I was a teaching assistant in college, and I could definitely see being a University Professor as being an enjoyable long term profession.
I have my dream job, being a mom! My dream job is being an elementary teacher (pref. kinder or 1st grade), which i'm in college now working on. I was going to become a nurse so I could make $$$, but becoming a teacher will make me happy and allow me to spend time with my family.
Professional footy/soccer player. Most of my mates put in the work and were smart and are now in the mls or playing around the world. me, i'm here in dallas watching them on tv. I was lazy in high school, I didnt do a lot of things i should have done so here i am.
That douche, Guy Fieri, stole my job. Rolling around America in a muscle car (I'd swap the Camaro for 'a 70 BOSS 302) and eating at different "Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives".
Music director or pianist at a small church Music teacher at small, laid-back rural school (if I had the background and experience to handle everything myself) or choir assistant director/ accompanist Community college music instructor - small ensembles, fundamentals & music appreciation classes, lessons for beginning and intermediate adults Pit musician in a theater (keyboards or percussion - I like ima_drummer2k's workspace). Or, since we're dreaming, any other instrument, but I'm picking those I know something about in real life.
My Mother has been a pianist at a small church for as long as I remember. Last year, she was hired as the musical director at another larger church and has been doing that ever since. She LOVES it. Keeps her young. The thing that blows my mind is that she is 100% self-taught. Never took a single piano/organ lesson. Now she's the musical director/pianist/organist at a pretty large church and also teaches piano lessons 5 days a week. Just goes to show you what happens when you have good practice habits. I wish I did.....
I work every other weekend at a crisis shelter for kids (birth to age 6). I'm going back to school for Social Services and working on paying off my bills so I can "retire early" and run the center (doesn't pay well).
I wanted to be in Media/Public Relations for a major league sports team, too. I was even able to become the Media Relations Director for a very small independent minor league baseball team (the Amarillo Dillas), but I wasn't able to move up from there. And the Dillas job paid less than minimum wage, so it wasn't something I could do forever (and I ended up getting fired when my boss got fired, too, so that didn't help my long-term prospects).
Better quit posting now. You don't want to be tied to any of us. As for me, I've got half of my dream job now. If I was wealthy enough to just do incident response without having a regular 8-5 job, that would be perfect. I wouldn't mind being an author. I keep telling myself that some day I'll sit down and write a novel, but since I haven't done it yet and since I suck at writing fiction, it probably won't happen.
