it's what I should do (should have already done), but the second I made more money, I decided to spend it on a new car... I can't afford to go back now.
I've never told anyone this but I've always wanted to go to Pastry school and become a chocolatier. I have an insatiable sweet tooth, so when time permits I'm baking.
My dream jobs vary on a short-term basis. Next year, I'd like to run our school hedge fund and serve as an RA in a new dormitory, which will be like a hotel. There are so many things I want to do and accomplish in my lifetime. I will say this. My ultimate Dream Job would be becoming President of the United States. But for now, it's just seeing what life has to offer and working hard to get what I want.
THat's what I wanted to do for a while, and it's what I do now. Once you see your paycheck, you might want to start something else. I'd rather be the talkshow host's boss, Red-McComb's style.
1a. Successful novelist. 1b. Successful rock/blues/jazz musician. 1c. Tenured professor at a major university. 2. What I'm doing now.
Starting PG for the Houston Rockets. haha. Seriously, I'd like to be involved with the Rockets bball operations in some capacity. At this point though, I'm just trying to land a full time job at an oil company. My problem is that I have a little experience in many aspects of business, but no real longevity as far as experience. I've got a marketing and management bba, I've got a little bit of account analysis experience, and I've done administrative assistant. Play it by ear
i would love to own a resort in hawaii. work there and just go out and experience the great scenery from my window. i would love to be a scout for the rockets as well
Its all about sacrifice and paying your dues. A little luck here an there never hurt. The absolute KEY is building a solid network. A good place to start is LinkedIn. Great for those of us who aren't the best at keeping in touch, or when the word "network" strikes fear into you. It takes some time to build up, but is well worth the efforts. Talk to people that do the things you want to do - befriend them. Ask them tons of questions. Set up informational interviews with companies you would want to work for. Go to conferences and tradeshows even if it has nothing to do with what you are doing now. Stay active and involved. Thats my best advice.
