Using the Bot and Dolly camera system is an interesting way of shooting action. As long as I can see the movements, I am happy.

Look interesting. I guessed he is also starring? If he is he better be in good form. I don't want to see him being uncoordinated(like in The Matrix) fighting some real train fighters. Should have gotten Donnie Yen.

So, apparently, if you want to make an unoriginal and possibly unfunded film in a stale genre seem interesting, get a popular actor to direct it and talk about the equipment.

    Wo: yes?

$25M budget. That's a low budget film for Hollywood. Yes, it's likely a vanity project.

It's pretty respectable for a first time director in that they're presumably betting on $50 to $75 million in revenue: unless it's a Hope Floats type situation where they'll write it off in exchange for him doing Devil's Ombudsman, Matrix Defragmented or something. I didn't notice the funding before so I guess I have to retract that part of my original post; but it's still noteworthy that his debut is something that requires little editing or directing from more people than just the fight choreographer.

a one minute clip showing the equipment he wants to use to film fight scenes means his film is going to have little to no editing or directing? your powers of extrapolation are far superior to mine

It's a martial arts film starring a ******* stuntman, there will be little to edit in the way of dialogue or acting. The stupid ass camera clip - what the **** kind of film promotes it's equipment as the main attraction - is meant to deflect from that fact and still cash in on Keanu's name recognition.
