But, IMO, it was Presti who told him to withdraw. This happened in response to George's injury. This was done to protect him, and OKC's upcoming season, from a catastrophic injury.

I guess he could start, theoretically, unless they put Curry in the starting 5 and shift Harden.

KD was going to play the Power Forward spot anyway.

I guess this means Harden is the experienced vet and leader of this squad

    Not shocked at all.

For those keeping score at home:

LeBron, CP3, Dwight, Melo, Love, Griffin, Westbrook, LMA, Bosh, and now KD.

Interested to see which stars commit in 2016. May not even see the B team represent USA Basketball.

But, but, but... Cuban's starting his 'own World Cup of basketball'. LOL

I know this is the wrong messageboard to be saying this but...

    To me, Sportsmanship > $$$

Interpret as you will. I always appreciate when the top athletes are willing to honor their country and their competitors by playing internationally.

Until they get injured and lose more than half of the money they're suppose to get for the upcoming season.

There's nothing wrong with representing the country.

    I applaud people who do.

But, if you end up having a career ending injury due to it, which one would You pick?

World Cup is crap. I think they'll have a very good team again in 2016. Olympics have much more prestige than the World Cup in basketball. Very few teams have anything close to their best roster for the World Cup, it's not just USA. And it's been like that for decades.

And yes, NBA's World Cup idea will need a lot of work. If they ban NBA players from the Olympics, then in time maybe the World Cup becomes a big deal.
