Give clippy credit, he says stupid things to denigrate lots of players, not just Kobe. He's just more annoying when he's talking about players others than Kobe.
A lot of players draw iffy fouls, like Kobe. Why don't Kobe and Harden shoot 50%? Saying Durant only shoots 50% because he gets to the line a lot is ridiculous.
Why not attack the argument instead of the poster? Do you honestly think Durant doesn't get cheap calls, or that it seems right that he is getting way more FTs than anyone else in the league? I am not saying he isn't a great player-- he would be MVP if not for the absurd year LBJ is having-- but I am addressing the initial post and telling you that his shooting numbers are inflated because of sone rather speculative calls. I promise you that once Durant wins a title and OKC builds up some rivalries, he will start to get some hate and won't be looked at as the golden boy everyone thinks he is.
Is the logic really that hard to parse? When you get to the line a lot, it makes your FG% higher because shots that would be misses don't get counted. Durant is barely shooting 50% so it stands to reason that he would be shooting under 50% if he gepot even one less iffy call per game. Kobe is actually a great example this because he has the worst sgot selection in modern NBA history but has managed to preserve a respectable 45%ish shooting percentage because he gets bailed out so much.
I don't really agree with Clippy's argument but here is some food for thought. The current league leaders in going to the charity stripe are also the top players driving to the rim. Naturally you would asume that they would get FTs. What makes Durant's case so crazy is the guy gets most of his FT attempts on straight up jumpshots. He is 34th out of players who drive to the rim to get their points. Harden, Westbrook, Lebron are all top 10.
Have you considered that, maybe, just maybe, if he didn't get fouled, he would make the shot and actually have a higher fg%? You want to throw ideas out there.. there's one for you

Nope I am not, that was pure opinion and bias. No substance in that post, just my reservations about him. What is true is that Durant picks up the most ticky tacky fouls out of anyone in the league. Its pretty ridiculous. This statement does have basis and I have provided evidence.
Although I'd give Lebron a slight edge at this point, it isn't like he is by far and away better than Durant. Their stats are nearly identical in every aspect except assists. But LeBron is their primary ballhandler where it's Westbrook in OKC.
