Leonard has a lot of potential but sometimes I think Popavich's system makes role players seem better than they actually are.
"With a wingspan some 9 inches longer than he is tall at 6-6, Leonard has one of the most unique physical profiles in this class. His hands, as expected, are absolutely gigantic, ranking him amongst 7'0 foot centers in terms of hand width and length. His 7-3 wingspan is amongst the largest ever for a player 6-6 or under" From DraftExpress.com http://www.draftexpress.com#ixzz2VafDRABQ http://www.draftexpress.com
The thing I like about Leonard is his no-nonsens/whining attitude. The guy simply does his job and frankly does it very well. I honestly didn't know what his wingspan was until reading this and that makes me even more excited about what he can become. I understand people are saying he can't be at Paul George's level but let's also keep in mind George was put in a situation where his stardom was from necessity. Leonard has 3 HOF players around him. To me, if he can create more (even though he doesn't really need to) he'll be very scary.
Parsons is a much better shooter than Leonard, the spurs system just has him taking 80% of his 3's from the corners (he shoots about 43% from the corners and something like 25% everywhere else along the 3 pt line).
Sounds like WAY back when Robert Horry was a championship young role player on the up supposed to take it to the "next level". And basically stayed the same player just a little smarter and clutch as he went along. Though still valuable to his teams Leonard's a TAD better than Parsons on the strength of his defense. Though Parsons is just that very spectacularly all-around moderately decent at everything type with a little bit of extra playmaking and leadership added.
The wingspan is artificially inflated by his huge hands. If he had regular hands he'd have gator arms.
I think at this point in their careers Parsons and Leonard are both on the same level. Parsons is a tad bit better at offense and shooting while Leonard makes up for it with his energy and defense. I find it funny how we managed to draft a bust with a pick before Leonard but then take his counterpart in the second round. Needles to say i look forward to these two battling it out in the future.
say his hands were inch smaller, thats still a 7ft1 wingspan on a 6ft6 player. two inches each and thats still 6ft11 on a 6ft6 player. His standing reach is the same as Thomas Robinsons (8ft10)
Been watching him since high school. Repping my hometown of Riverside, California. He isn't a jerk in person either since I know him and his family personally. Easy to root for a guy like him. GO KAWHI!
Lol you just have no idea wtf ur talking about. Been watching kawhi since college since i live in san diego.. Was mad the rockets passed on him to draft morris.
then read what has been written. It was strictly a comparison to Paul George He does not have the length or the heigth of Paul George optically. Well form your own opinion.
What does this even mean? Optically? Like with your eyes? Why do we even care about how you perceive things you see? Facts are facts. He's longer than Paul George, but shorter. Facts. -- It's better to have no opinion than to base your opinion on things that aren't true, besides I think you agree now that length and height aren't the same thing.
Also, I did not exactly intend to pile onto this since half of the posts on this board are baseless opinions, which doesn't particularly bother me (I don't really expect the average sports fan to be knowledgable about the game.) BUT, you doubled down, first by saying you meant height , not length, then saying it was strictly a physical comparison relative to George. The clincher has to be your signature, oh the irony. These things I find annoying.
