You don't have to worry about that because Dallas has nothing outside of Dennis Smith Jr that can be offered in a trade.
No way i'd trade Kawhi for Beal and "fillers" when there're teams with assets like Lakers, Celtics, Sixers around...i also don't see Kawhi being that interested in playing with Wall in Washington tbh.
Don't know if "mental health concerns" are legit, but if I were a GM I'd bring it up anyways to set the table. That was last year breh. This year it's Kawhy Me?? Windhorse is so big, he gets fat shamed by guys named Pizza_Da_Hut
"[Aldridge] said, 'I want to be traded,' " Popovich said. "And I said, 'Whoa, nobody has ever said that to me before.' He said, 'I'm not enjoying this. I'm not confident. I'm not sure you want me here. I want to be traded.' " "I was very candid with him," Popovich said. "I told him I would be happy to trade him. You get me a talent like Kevin Durant and I will drive you to the airport. I will pack your bags and I will drive you there,' and he laughed. And I said, 'Short of that I am your best buddy, and you are here for another year and you ain't going nowhere because for you talent-wise, we are not going to get what we want, so let's figure this thing out. And we did." ______________ Wanted Durant-like talent for Aldridge? I wonder what he will ask for Kawhi or will they tell him to stop acting a like a b****, put on his boy pants, we aren't trading you.
It really doesn't matter where/what his interest is. At this point, he will have to take what he gets -- whether he likes it or not.
Wouldn't surprise me if Pop already did tell Kawhi this behind the scenes. Kawhi may have simply called his bluff and told him to go kiss off. Which would explain Pop making his public statement about a "deadline" for Kawhi to return and then unleashing Parker and Ginobili with their remarks to the press.
Celtics could surrender both Tatum AND Brown and still have enough talent left. Irving Hayward Leonard Horford Baynes
C's apparently have a possible top 5 draft pick through a trade.. that must be included... a win for both teams
They have the Kings unprotected pick in next year's draft... The asterik to that is, it would actually be the Lakers first round pick THIS YEAR instead if that finishes 2-6. Right now the Lakers pick is #10, so it wouldn't go to Boston. In any case it's through Philadelphia. Random but interesting what the Sixers would prefer?? Meaning would Sixers rather get the #10 pick from the Lakers this year but lose the Kings pick next year ... OR have the Lakers move up to #2/#3, in which case that pick goes to Boston, but the Sixers keep the Kings pick in 2019. ... anyway, Tatum, Brown + that pick is a decent haul, but obviously pushes out their plans. Not that Pops couldn't win with those guys, but wouldn't it be better then to try and move LMA and Gay and start a mini-rebuild with Murray, Brown, Tatum, Bertrans, picks, whatever else they get from trading guys?
Sorry... I didn't mean that I think it would be likely to happen... Its just one of my worst fears... I want Dallas to be in basketball hell for the next 30 years.
Every situation is different. Kawhi has no say in where he goes though. EDIT: Unless he wants to stay in SA...I'm sure he could make that happen.
If Kawhi is not signing an extension this summer it means he wants to go, and if that's the case he'll be a superstar expiring, of course he would have a say in that situation, if he he wants to of course, which is something we don't really know at this point, even though rumors are talking about L.A. so...we'll see if that's true.
You arent wrong. I'm just saying that if they are going to trade him, he will go wherever they can find a good deal. Of course if he goes to into free agency, he will have his pick of the litter.
If the Spurs offered Kawhi for Tatum, Brown, and a Pick, I would jump all over that if I’m Danny Ainge... and I think he would. Kawhi, Kyrie, Hayward, & Horford would be ridiculous. Favorites in the East for sure, maybe overall.
The fact that Kawhi wants out of SA is actually insane (if reports are true). Not sure where that relationship went sour but being handed the keys to THAT franchise with their track record of success, their winning culture, with arguably both the best coach in the league and best Front Office in the league, and then suddenly wanting nothing to do with it just seems bizarre to me. There’s gotta be more to this story. I think he might find that the grass isn’t always greener on the other side.
