This is such a ridiculous point you’re trying to make. There is an understanding that a player has to perform well in order to keep their role. No team is going to play in a way that hurts the team because they “made a promise”. It’s crazy to me that you think any team should operate this way.
Dwight was 28 in his first year with us. It's unreasonable to expect a 28 year old max-contract player to significantly improve and then punish him when he doesn't.

to be fair, in that same podcast, russillo, completely seriously, asked simmons if the clippers would consider trading paul george for james harden. simmons just had to laugh and say "uhh, yeah." that's some next level hate right there. hmm, the guy who just put up 20 ppg/53.6 TS% or the guy who put up 30 ppg/63.6 TS% in the playoffs. the guy who almost beat the dame lillard blazers or the guy who almost beat the durant warriors. the guys who just blew a 3-1 lead by losing 3 straight double digit 2nd half leads or the guy who has only blown one series lead when cp3 got hurt.

more like the talent and coaching he’s had his entire career has been 100x better than Harden’s Kawhi went from Pop to Nick Nurse...both far better than Harden’s best coach he’s ever had in MDA then Kawhi went to Doc who most viewed as definitely better than someone like MDA imagine if Harden ever blew a 3-1 lead to a team like Denver while having double digit leads in the final 3 games, and then topping it off with 14 points on 6-22 shooting in game 7...that’s the true definition of a choke job
Don't forget the fact that he sat out like a b**** and forced his way out San Antonio because of some quad injury no one has ever seen before.
