I think I'm a pretty decent basketball analyst. I've watched hundreds of hours of film, written numerous reports, and called Acie Law as a lottery pick after watching him play the first half-season of his freshman year. As an Aggie, I like AK...he has good footwork, a nice shot, and decent positioning. He's just not quick enough...no explosion...and his arms are not that long. He might make a roster for a week and get sent down again to the D League...he's not going to have any productive stretch in the NBA that lands him a 1 yr contract. Just my opinion.
AK could be a very real possibility for the Rockets if Morey's attempts at getting a legit PF fall through. As mentioned before, AK is a teamplayer, seems very coachable, and could be a utility type of guy that will fulfill whatever role was asked of him. I would definently consider him an upgrade over Jake Tsakalidis, hell I'm not sure his game is too far below an aged JHo.
Theres a lot of guys who have played in this league with a lot less then what AK has to offer. He really needs to become a refined player, a consistant midrange jumper could get him spot mins. in the NBA as a backup 5.
Unfortunately I'm a Longhorn living over here in Aggie Land but I have to say that AK is definately better than Big Jake. I always thought he was a little clumsy but I would also tell all my Aggie buddies if they had a true big man they could have gone much deeper in the tournament this year. He is coachable and with hard work you never know what he could turn out to be. I seriously doubt he makes the team but you never know
Meh. Just a body for the summer league team. It's not really worth thinking about since, in all likelihood, he'll never see the floor in the NBA.
No you should not. He will never play a minute for any pro club. I doubt he could start for many of the challenging overseas leagues. Hopefully he got a decent degree. He will be needing it.
