Karl Malone is great and I'd love to see him on the Rockets...but it won't happen, assuming he stays true to his word about not reemerging from retirement.

I am a true Rocket fan and greatly admire the greatest power forward ever, Karl Malone.

What advertising are you talking about? As I recall, everyone labeled im a 3 year project at best and a bust at worst. notone Rocket fan on thisboard has labeled him to be better than TD KG or anything even close. Howcan you say someone isnt as good as advertised when everyone projected him to be a lose rin the first place?

We have expectations and hopes, but noone whois a real Rox fan says he is better than what he is right now. The more you talk, the more you wind up sounding like those idiots that we see on BSPN who call TMac selfish just because thats wha they heard form somone else.

Malone is and will stay RETIRED!
If he didn't choose to play for SA, he won't come from retirement to play for Rox!
Anyways... no one would want to!

    HotBalla,

That was a lot of unintelligible b.s. you just spewed. Yao is now in his 4th year, has yet to average a double-double, and cannot play more than 30 minutes consistently. Yeah, he's averaging 31.1 right now, but he's played a lot of 20+ mpg nights, too.

STFU with the "real rockets fan" b.s. I don't hate Yao, you dipsh*t. I'm starting to be irritated with you, however.

I have zero clue what you are doing bringing up the minutes thing. Yao is inconsistent, ok, I agree. What I said was that noone in the media nor most of our fan base expected much from Yao (except those YOFs who are not "real Rockets fans"). You say he isnt as good as advertised, but what person who watches the Rockets for a while has ever said Yao is a superstar on Duncan's level? Do you want me to explain this concept to you again? You can't say something is not as good as advertised when noone is saying it's good in the first place. We make these comments at writers from BSPN or FSN who say Yao isnt as good as advertised by poining out they were the ones who were calling him a bust in the first place. You sound EXACTLY like them

Those comments where I said real rockets fans, I was excluding YOFs who have disillusioned view of Yao, I therefore am thoroughly confused as to why you would take any offense to this at all. Thank you though for your little insult.

    HotBalla,

Yao is not a bust. He's just not as good as advertised. Are you happy NOW?

and my original question, according to whose advertisement? If the media had been proclaiming Yao to be the wonder of the NBA world from the moment he got drafted, then yeah, he wasn't as good as advertised. However, he's always been advertised as a bust or 3 year project by the media. You keep insisting hes not as good as advertised, and I keep asking, who was doing the advertising?

    H.B.,

The Rockets themselves advertised Ming to be the next big thing. People here on this BBS said the same thing. Yao is in his fourth year. He's still not there. He's lethargic, lacks endurance and consistency, and the Rockets didn't get the benefit of their bargain.

That is the answer to your question.

The Rockets advertised Yao as PART of something big, noone in the organization expected him to be 22 and 12. The only people on this board who were yelling about how Yao is the next TD are YOFs (you know, not the "real fans" I was talking about). He's in his 4th year? LOL you're a frigging idiot.

    P1st, S2nd,

Why you keep saying this is Yao's 4th year. You better change your signature to: Piss Yao 1st, sh*t Yao 2nd.

My major, huge, gigantic lapse of memory aside (yes, Yao is in his 3rd not 4th year), Yao wasn't worth the pick, IMHO.

22 and 12 is what he should be giving us. Until Yao does that, he's underachieving.

Sorry guys, I do watch the games on League Pass, TNT, Fox SW and even here in S.A. locally when the Rocks play the Spurs. Plus I've played organized ball. Yao isn't Chinese Jesus. Sorry.
