The basketball gods have placed a curse on Karl Malone for all his bad karma.. and any team who so dares to claim him.. will be bestowed with the curse.. the curse?

he is the awnser to alot of questions:
who was the biggest idiot in the nba in the last 20 years(besides Pippen).
Who is the biggest flopper in nba history?
who gave drexler a bear hug.
Who can knock david robinson out cold, and be sure that Robinson gets the foul(sure malone he tried to make a foul with his head by slamming it to your elbow)?

but if the question is who do the rockets need? the Answer can never be Malone

I would guess that the thought has crossed CD's mind. Beyond this board, I don't know that there's a huge pool of hate among Rox fans anyways. I'd say the big issues are:

    • Has he changed his mind since he made his statements about not coming back? Maybe, but probably not.
    • Is he in game shape? Possibly - I somehow don't see him flabbing out any time soon.

The whole scenario seems pretty remote, but I think it's worth at least a phone call.

I'll never forget the game he knocked Sweet Lou Lloyd in the face with his elbow, on purpose, and took Lou Lloyd out of the game for the Rockets. He had his brief stint of uninformed AIDS phobia when Magic Johnson came back to play etc.

His career is pretty much like that.

AB said it best. Even if he would guarantee us 3 championships in the next three years, it isn't worth it. Better to come in second and keep your soul.

Uh, if he is retired, how is he the best "help" out there? Those 2 statements constitute a paradox.

Quit wasting bandwidth space with sh!tty threads like this...

We should inquire. Period. We have everything to gain and nothing to lose. The only thing Malone has to lose is his word in that he said he would not come out of retirement.

People who b**** and moan about Superman joining forces with Lex Luther read too many comic books. I want a championship, damnit. Do you think Jordan gave **** when Rodman, a former Detroit Piston "Bad Boy" joined the bulls? Get over it.

I'll take you up on that bet.

Now comes the question - how to prove he did or he did not?

He WAS one of the greatest, ok? WAS! What makes you think he could still do that, if he could, why would he retire? He wants that ring so badly, that he would sell his soul to the devil, no my mistake, he sold it long time ago. Anyways, he knows he's in no condition to contribute. Instead of being humiliated on the court, he would rather save his face and retire. By the way, I heard that Dream guy was pretty good, why don't we get him as well? Besides, from a fan perspective, I hate dirty players. Period. Bowen and Karla, who go out there to hurt people intentionally, never ever deserve a spot on the Rockets team.

    SJC,

Yao not bad, just not as good as advertised. So goes the saying about potential, which is nothing more than unrealized talent.

Malone is good, and would fit right in with what we need. Malone hits that 12-15 foot jumper with fluidity, better so than Juwan. Plus Malone will knee his opponent in the nuts on the way to scoring a lay-up and somehow draw a foul.

I agree he probably hasn't flabbed out like Barkley who's now just the 'Round Mound' but there's a big difference between chopping wood in Louisiana and guarding Tim Duncan.

After being out this long to suddenly come back with about a third of the season left and contribute at anything worthwhile I just don't see it.

    Chemistry.

If we can make it happen without an acquisition, it makes our team even tighter.

Malone is great, there is no doubt, but there is such a thing as too much talent. Look at the Lakers last year. Owned.

I hate giving credit to the Lakers and Karl Malone but they did make it to the Finals beating teams they probably shouldn't have like the Spurs and T-Wolves. On top of that if Malone hadn't been out during the Finals things might've turned out differently.
