I just hope they all get what's coming to them. To have this tape..they basically incriminated themselves all the way and gave them every reason to be tried and sent to jail. Just pathetic. I want to follow this case to figure out what happens to them
I had the misfortune of watching this last night before I slept. So many things wrong with this. From abusing Karate, to perverting its philosophy, to the outright cruelty of everyone inside that building. No one stopped the lunatic, and apparently the ******* master thought it was badass enough to post it online 25 years later.
Saw this a few days ago, but didn't watch the end. Just thought it was some guy getting beat, but didn't know it went that far. Sick.
The mentally handicapped guy put up a pretty good fight. I'm not familiar with karate, but is it common to strike someone when they are on the ground like that? I would charge the actual guy who beat him with a more serious crime than the owner of the dojo.
I haven't watched the video and am not planning on watching it but as a martial arts instructor something like this is very disturbing and saddening. We are not mere fighters but practictioners of a philosophical value system. While we practice a violent art where we beat, throw, choke, and joint lock people into submission at its core though is a foundation of mutual respect, humility and compassion. We learn to respect ourselves, our opponents and from that to all of humanity. Killing a man, especially one much weaker than you, for sport or out of some misplaced sense of pride is a betrayal of what is the essence of martial arts. Of the "Do" that we follow to make us better people. Ordering your student to do so is a betrayal of the trust that your student has invested in you and your duty to make your student a better person. Standing by and allowing such a thing to happen is a betrayal of your ideals. This killing isn't just a killing of a man but an assault on what those of us in martial arts strive to be.
Excellent post, Sisher. They should all be charged. The "master" b*stard should be charged with murder as well, in my opinion, along with the guy who did it. Martial arts, an ancient and worthy discipline, should not be tainted by this. How I hope they arrest them all and give them what should be coming to them.
I hope everyone who witness that spends the rest of their lives in jail. It is hard for me to understand how a human being can do that do another human being for no good reason whatsoever. Good call by the mods to edit that video. I felt compelled to watch it and after a quick search found it and viewed it. I feel a bit sick after seeing it. By the way, the guy who did it was an absolutely ****ty fighter but I guess that explains why these "karate experts" have to fight handicapped people in order to ever win a fight. He won't last one fight in prison.
Dont Watch video please! I made the mistake of searching it thinking. Meh it can't be that bad. It is horrible, dude takes advantage and he doesn't want anymore. Seriously, I hope the guy in the video gets the death penalty, how can he live knowing he did this to a man that was somewhat religious, even if he was on drugs or whatever, he didnt want to fight! This really makes me angry, I hope this man gets caught.
From what i have read, the ******* instructer himself uploaded it to youtube. Thinking people were going to laud him for it. crazy.
Can someone give me more info about this. I know I can google it but I just don't know what to type. "An ******* abuses a disabled person"
no it's anathema to any fighting system. I clicked a link someone sent me for the video and neither of the 2 guys really seemed to have any training TBH. it basically looked like an untrained guy assaulting another guy outside a bar, both look to be in a decent shape but neither seemed to be trained or know what they were doing. it wasn't clear that the guy in the gi had any more training than the victim. he's kicking to the groin and stomping on a man's head. it's as if any martial arts training he did have went out the window when he decided he was going to hurt the victim and he resorted to brawling to try to damage the other man. after the victim concedes and tries to walk away the goon grabs the man's leg 7-year-old-kid-draggin-his-kid-sister's-foot style and manages a knee to the victim's head which incapacitates him. then as victim falls unconscious his head slams into the hard metal base of a lamp or pole. the goon then smashes the man's head against metal 2 or 3 times. any one of the last 4 blows could have been fatal. not to be harsh but whatever implication this has concerning the "essence" of martial arts is inconsequential to the fact that a dude might have been beaten to death in the video. who cares about what martial arts implication it has when these 2 goons fail on so many levels of basic humanity, like beating up a guy who says he doesn't want to fight, cheapshotting a guy after he concedes the fight twice, failing to stop someone who's beating another person to death, failing to get help for that person, hiding the body, taping the snuff film, using it as a point of pride, saving it 25 years etc. martial arts isn't going to fix basically flawed human beings. I dont know why but I wasn't expecting the 2 combatants to be black. The aspect of the fat white dude sending his "boy" like a pit bull on the other black dude to force him to fight for his life for no other purpose than vanity, power projection and amusement to me was evocative of a dog fight, complete with dumping the body in a dumpster as if he's trash and not a human being. The black guy in the gi also struck me as sub-human himself... killing a man like some kind of trained dog because his master points him in a direction, and mindlessly going in for the kill once the victim drops to the floor like a hound on a wounded animal. I mean it seems like he has no rational thought, no matter if another man tells him he doesn't want to fight, gives up, appeals to him, is unconscious whatever he's going to keep going until his master calls him off...
I cant believe I watched it after everyone told me not too....I never get grossed out either, but that was pretty awful.
