It looks like they used a portion of broad shot from the beginning (before the emperor's hologram shows up), and spliced that into the middle portion of the video. They looped that, and stuck the Kanye video on top of it. As for making the Kanye video look like a projection, it's just a matter of skewing it and putting a couple of effects on it. The end result does look great, but probably isn't that difficult for even a novice with Sony Vegas or Adobe Premiere. They didn't actually remove the emperor from the shot, as it looks at first. Now that would be much more complicated.
Look, Clutchfans, this has got to be the most played out thing I've ever seen in history. It went from being slightly funny to played out in two days. It's over. I could care less what your new "brilliant" photoshop is. Move on.
