Eh. I don't think anyone really is "afraid" of confrontation on a anonymous internet message board. It's more like people get bored and find it culminating into a level of toxicity that just isn't good for their mental health and just find something better to do.

I don't know, I see it on the left and on the right. People just need to be more accepting of the fact that others have different views of the world than they do.
Why does the right not have to accept the views of the left though. I agree that we should accept other people's crazy beliefs, and co-exist. However I don't force my beliefs onto them, but we are living in a world where their extremist views are certainly forced on us. Here in Texas we literally have crazies on the right forcing white supremist fever dreams on the history of the US on our kids, and have extremist anti-women's views on my wife's ability to make the choices she wants about her body. Then there's the issue of democracy. If the right is trying to say that "everyone should be allowed to believe what they want, and have freedoms, etc. etc." Democracy is the only way to really rationalize that social ecosystem to exist. Assuming we take their word that they want a system more like Russia/Hungary for minority right wing rule forever, you cannot peg that square into a round hole. Yes there might be some cases where liberal views are put into our social and governmental construct. However keep in mind that's still under the framework of Democracy where if the right doesn't like it... guess what.... they can show up and vote. If you are uncomfortable with what you perceive as "woke" governmental policy.... vote "un-woke". What the right is working to impose is "un-woke" by force where we no longer have choices and freedoms to be whoever the hell we want to be. How is that rationalized by someone like yourself???
