everyone has their role in the military, but JD Vance is inviting these attacks on himself…stop talking like u were in the trenches Alexander Vindman, a retired Army lieutenant colonel, wrote on X, formerly Twitter: "Vance enlisted & served 4 yrs, including 6 months in Iraq in 2005 as a reporter w/ a Public Affairs section of a Marine Aircraft Wing. Walz served 24 yrs earning 8 promotions & ending as a Command Sergeant Major, the highest NCO position. I don't think JD wants to compare records but if he insists." Jake Broe, a U.S. Air Force veteran who served as a nuclear and missile operations officer, wrote: "Tim Walz retired from military service after 25 years of honorable service. He retired an E-9 Command Sergeant Major. JD Vance went to Iraq for six months and wrote press releases from an air conditioned office." Adam Kinzinger, a former Republican congressman who served in the Air Force, said while sharing Vance's comments on Walz: "OK. JD served honorably, but he wasn't kicking down doors. He was in public affairs. Which again, is fine and honorable. Tim, after he was eligible for retirement, retired. People do that. If it was a real problem he would have been 'stop lossed' and prevented from retiring." Navy veteran Jax Persists added: "Vance served 4 years and spent 6 months in Iraq escorting civilian press and writing stories. Walz served 24 years and retired when he ran for office."
You can try to make it sound ridiculous, but it's still a legitimate question. When Trump met crazies, you guys were up in arms. He said he didn't really know who they were or what their positions were (whether that's believable or not). Walz met this guy 5 times, and funded him. He also is a big fan of Ilhan Omar, who is a rabid Jew hater. This is a legitimate cause for concern, as it appears to place him either in or very close to the Hamas wing of the Dems.
Patience. That part is coming once the new campaign confirms their policy. It's hard to attack something that isn't clear.
they tried to see if Ron DeSantis could capture some of the base, but that was an enormous failure the cult members won’t be going to Ron rallies or buying DeSantis merch…they won’t be donating money to a campaign like his it’s no longer about policy or republican values for them, they threw those out long ago…it’s a cult of personality when Trump loses, they will only support the most extreme MAGA type on the ballot in 2028, but none of them have the magic of Trump…none of them can get away with the batsh*t insane things Trump says either if JD Vance was the one talking about shark batteries, Hannibal Lector, and crying about crowd sizes and posting all that mentally ill stuff on Truth Social, he’d be finished…only Trump can get away with it Trump is so unhinged atp, it’s like he’s not even trying to win anymore and will attempt to go out in a blaze of glory trying to steal the election one final time before the criminal cases finish him
It's very unlikely that Harris's campaign will detail exactly what their policies are, and frankly, they don't need to. Their positions aren't a secret—you generally know where they stand. They've already spoken about many of them. She might make some adjustments before the election, but if you're expecting a detailed policy report, that's not likely to happen. If you want to know where she stands on issues, you can get a good sense from her recent speeches: Lowering drug costs (likely empowering the government to negotiate drug prices, continuing what the Biden administration has done) Forgiving student loan debt Eliminating junk fees, hidden fees, and surprise late charges No ban on fracking Opposed to a single-payer health insurance system Federal law to restore Roe (she calls it 'reproductive freedom') Signing the bipartisan border bill Ironclad support and unwavering commitment to Israel, while acknowledging the suffering of Palestinians Support for Ukraine in its fight against Russia Commitment to NATO And so on... Frankly, people talk a lot about policy, but I don't think most people care that much about it. It's important, but secondary to personality. When it comes to policy, negative attacks and ads are less about the policy itself and more about what kind of person would even think of that policy (usually taking a snippet of the policy and framing it in a misleading and twisted way)—it's usually an attack on the person's character. The Trump campaign could definitely go after her policies, but they don't (they do, it's just not a top priority), likely because they have a different mindset on what's effective. Plus, they're led by someone who cares more about crowd sizes than anything else.
Thanks for trying to list some of her possible policy positions. I don't find the "unwavering commitment to Israel" believable. As soon as Labour took over in the UK, that was over. And Tim Walz has aligned himself with Ilhan Omar and funded Islamist clerics. I also find their positions on free speech troubling. Walz uses the fighting word "misinformation" a lot. Again, Labour in the UK (who are very comparable to the Dems ideologically) went full authoritarian-dystopian as soon as they took over, getting people arrested for Facebook posts - although Keir Starmer was supposedly meant to be a "moderate". Furthermore, Kamala said there "should be reparations". I consider that a pretty extreme position. What have 8 year old kids who happened to not have been born white done that they should feel some kind of guilt towards other kids who happened to have been born black, but obviously never were slaves? Finally, I strongly disagree with both Kamala's and Tim Walz's culture war positions on DEI, transgendering kids, securing the border, etc.
The DNC likely has a list of policy planks that most of their members support. Or you looking for the "free school lunch" policy plank that you can easily mistranslate into Marxism?
Of course, I forgot one of the most important issues on policy - I would fully expect Harris/Walz to be much more "socialist" in their economic policies - high taxes, big government, stifling the economy, worsening inflation. So all the things you helpfully listed, @Amiga, which sound benign at face value, just like "diversity, equity, inclusion" sound benign - do not come anywhere near to outweighing the main criteria shaping my personal preference: left-wing dems worse for the economy and thereby people's livelihood less pro-Israel, more harmful coddling of Islamists pro-woke (DEI, "critical race theory", transgendering kids) instead of against this lunacy anti free speech and personal freedom, more authoritarian and pro big/bloated government Of course, anyone can disagree, but these are the issues which would be my main concern and where the Republicans should expose Kamala and Walz. And yeah, I'm not opposed to free school lunches and to extensive scholarship opportunities for historically disadvantaged parts of the population. (The younger the individual, the less based on merit.) I am in favour of creating more equality of opportunity (enabling and incentivizing people to succeed, on the final mile based on their own merit), not forced equality of outcome (=communism).
No one cares. Only those who are MAGA already give a crap about dumbass stuff like this.......and they are ****ed in the head for even considering a rapist, pedophile conman with fake bonespurs. So **** em. Anyone that doesn't give 2 ***** about Trump's lies is not worth listening too. DD
Please check the economies under recent Democratic and Republican administrations. It isn't the Republicans that have produced the better economies.
You must think massive inflation on food prices (= a hidden government tax that hits low income earners much harder than rich people) is "better".
Do I believe the US doing a better job of dealing with global inflation than other nations is "better"? The answer is yes.
So, yes. The US is dealing with the global inflation better than most other nations. That is a good thing.
