I’m listening to Elise Stefanik on CBS talking about the upcoming debate and election. I can see why she wasn’t picked for VP. She’s just speed reciting talking points. She sounds like one of those people reading off disclaimers at the end of drug commercials.
As far as the debate I’m planning on watching it but and not expecting much from it. I don’t think it will be dominated by either side and won’t end up making much of a difference in the race. Walz will try to bait Vance but I think Vance is smart and disciplined enough to take the bait. Vance will hit Walz on inconsistencies which Walz will deflect. I think Vance is probably a better debater than Walz but he is handicapped by having to defend Trump’s statement and as such will be on the defensive most f the night.
Walz needs to attack Trump and point out Vance's inconsistencies as he tries to defend Trump. Paint Vance as a flip flopper and total nut job or someone that doesn't really align with Trumpers.
I think part of the reason Trump didn't agree to more debates with kamala, after doing one with Biden and trying to get Kamala to agree to 3 of them in August (she only agreed to do 1), is that they want Vance most likely beating Walz in the debate to be the last thing undecideds see before the stretch run. That's not going to work because Vance has answered that question 1000 times on the several political talk shows he went on. The media has stopped asking him it because he answered it so well. If Walz tries bringing it up, it'll be an easy dunk for Vance.
I am going to watch for pure entertainment value, I don't think a VP debate moves the needle one bit but who knows...............Save a few Shiners for the debate after the Astros get the W
I hope Vance is asked to answer about for his admitted lie in an attempt to manipulate the media. This will be a chance to finally attack Vance for all of his bizarre statements about women should stay in abusive marriages and that he made up stories about Haitians eating pets in order to manipulate the media. He hasn't been called out on this stuff much at all. Tonight should be the night.
Trump gave Kamala a chance at 3 debates and she only wanted the one that favored her, no reason for Trump to do any more debates unless she agrees on a Fox debate which she won't because if the odds aren't in her favor and the media isn't covering for her she ain't $hit...
If you think "Tampon Tim" is a winning nickname for your side, I'm sure you'll think he did wipe the floor with Walz in the debate, regardless of what everybody else thinks.
Walz started off a little nervous but has hit the stride. Vance is doing OK but isn’t answering the accusations they members of Trump’s own admin called him unfit and that Vance himself did too.
Vance is bending the truth. Energy production in the US is higher now than it was under Trump. Manufacturing jobs are increasing now while they decreased under Trump.
Yeah the rule of not fact checking or holding participants accountable isn't journalism. But even with with the handicap, Vance can't rise above his own handicap which is the top of his ticket

Vance’s delivery is good and he’s very controlled. The problem is he has to defend Trump’s record. Walz’s delivery isn’t as good but he’s doing a good job countering the untruths that Vance is throwing out. So far the debate is playing as I expected.
