overly-dramatic? if you remember last year, it was tracy who actually TOLD THE TRUTH about his knee and how it was worse off and it was keith jones and the organization who really made light of it and said i wasn't as serious. and it cost tmac b/c he came back too early the first time and then went out again. tracy is HONEST and sometimes too much. he's not over-dramatizing anything. i take what he says more than what keith jones says. again, he is saying he'll play through the shoulder arthritis and the knee will be pretty good when the season starts. how is that making excuses? did he say he's gonna do bad and don't blame him when that happens?
That's how I feel. I really honestly think that Scola and Landry are really going to make this team be even better than last year. Scola and Yao only played for a few games together and they were great together. Scola for the first 3 to 6 minutes in a game sets the tone for us. You will see that again this year. Landry will have a big big season for us. I've said it before, Bench and PG position will be very important for us this year. The bench will help keep our players healthy.
I wonder if Tracy should have just shut it down last season when Yao went out and had surgery so he could be 100% now. We'd miss the playoffs and the historic 22 game winning streak, but it's a tough call... I think I would have rather him just get surgery last year in preparation for now. On the other hand, I'm glad he didn't quit.
Not that I agree with it. But if they did, we would have missed the playoffs and got a much higher draft pick. Who knows what Morey could have done with that piece of asset.
As someone has said, Les wouldn't be happy about what Tmac said. He is decreasing the rockets fans' passion. Les is paying him max money.
He didn't make an excuse, he didn't complain so what the hell are you talking about? Fans like you are pretty funny. I bet if Tracy was in a damn wheelchair you would still say suck it up and play righ?
Yeah, you're probably right on that injury last year. But in the past, Yao has been know to keep certain physical problems to himself, to his detriment. Anyways, you're not against talking to doctors, so that's a moot point. And what purpose will that serve, other than not raining on your parade? Does it make him tougher that he's willing to paint a rosy picture for you, regardless of what's actually happening behind the scenes between him and his trainers/doctors? I'd rather get the straight facts, and if it's not pretty I'll bear it. Better than false hope.
One thing I'd like to add is, if you want to complain about him talking about his injuries b/c the media asked him...that's one thing. But saying he's making excuses and whining is another. Many here will say he does this a lot, but this is not one of those times. I wonder if those hatin on him right now realize that. Yes, he could have said a thousand different things. But whining and making excuses is not what he's doing right now. Plain and simple. A knock on him is that he's too honest, but at least he just tells it like it is. He says what he means and nothing more. He's still hurting. Nothing more. Don't read into it that he's setting up excuses. The only excuse he's ever given (that I can recall) is having a good enough supporting cast around him. I think that is where you want to start picking him apart if that's what you really want to do.
If Tracy said something like this "if we don't get out of the first round this time its becasue I'm not 100%" that would be making an excuse. He didn't say anything like that or maybe you thought he did becasue thats what you wanted to hear.
I think if you're a true fan, you shouldn't let what Tracy said get you down. There is a lot of time between now and the regular season. There's even more time from right now and the playoffs. What's really matters right now is if they win or lose. That's it. There's soo many expectations out there and we have to manage some type of control. To me, what's important is what Tracy does rather than what he says. If he can produce, that's what really matters. What he says doesn't affect the outcome for the Rockets this year. What he does will.
Wait a minute. Last year we were excited and hopeful before training camp too, with the magic of Daryl Morey and whatnot. And we also know that every year there are always concerns about T-Mac's health before training camp. What if we had this same situation last year? Last year we were able to acquire Scola, Francis, James, Brooks, Landry, and, of course, Rick Adelman. Would you have said the same thing? I mean, Artest is a huge addition, but I quite remember many people on this board who thought we would win the championship last year...
Forget what Tmac says, I care about what Ron Artest says, he's already more entertaining and he hasn't even played a game yet. "I don’t think he’s ever played with a black player that really represents his culture as much as I represent my culture"
I wonder when he took that picture. He looked a little nappy headed in the recent videos. Maybe he's trying to look like Manu.
He's building in an excuse so it won't seem like he's making one later. He has you all fooled. Stop typing in italics. It is not cool.
Whatever the case is there will be no changing of opinions obviously. We can agree on that at least. Let's just hope he doesn't get hurt, k?
