"Making excuses" is only wrong if the excuse doesn't justify the results. Without knowing the extent of his shoulder and knee pain, none of us can make that judgment.

And, again, I'd rather know what he's thinking and feeling when it comes to his health. If he's exaggerating his physical ailments, sure I wouldn't be too happy about that. But we can't know if he's exaggerating, so I'm not going to assume that's the case.

You can spin this however you want. Like he's giving you some inside info. Talk to his doctor if you want a diagnosis.

Personally, I don't give a crap what's wrong with him. I want him to go out there and play. This happens every season. h egets hurt and tells us about it and sits out 20+ games.

Get on the damn court and play. I don't give a crap if you have a gimp or not. Play like a damn max player.

I thought he was thinking about Landry having a great season as well. I'm sure DD will clear it up soon.

That's obviously alot of peoples' point, but why? I mean, last year he said he was having problems with his shoulder and knee that needed surgery, people thought he was lying (as if he would come on the court all bandaged up looking like robocop on purpose).

If you include not being 100% after surgery as making excuses, then yes he is definitely making excuses.

Thats not very smart. The season is a marathon not a sprint. If he is gimping we definitely do not want Tmac to "get on the damn court and play because he is a max player." That may be the goofiest logic I've heard since...wait...did you use to be edc or oldmanrock?

Ok, i just saw this. You can disregard what i said above. You're part of the 'only pansies have scoliosis and arthritis, go out there and defy all medical logic' crowd.

Tmac is Tmac. He is not going to change. Tolerate him or quit him! Stop complaining!

What? I'm not the one presuming anything about what's really going on with his health. But obviously we need to have some understanding of that before we choose to heap scorn on him.

We all want him to go out there and play. We're all frustrated with the injuries. I'm saying it's not right to turn that frustration into anger at the individual when you don't even care to understand what's really going on physically with him.

Point is nobody will think you are making excuses if you just shut up and let the organization or your doctors do the talking for you.

Yao is always hurt, but no one thinks he is making excuses. He shuts up and the only time he talked about it was when they called a press conference after his season was already over and everyone already knew what had happened. Tracy is so dramatic that no one knows when he is embellishing or not. Let Keith Jones report Tracy's health issues.

Seriosuly though when was the last time Tracy was 100% according to him?

    EDIT: Saw your post above.

I worded that wrong. If Tracy has a serious knee injury that needs surgery, whatever he can sit out. I am sick of hearing about every little bump and bruise from his mouth. I don't care if his knee is stiff today or his shoulder is tight or his vagina is dry, I want him to play and leave the diagnosis to a doctor. He needs to shut up and play.

Yeah, that worked out great. Don't tell anybody what you're feeling, and let the stress fracture get to the point you have to miss the rest of the season.

    Great example!

probably the last time he was actually 100%....unfortunately he wasn't even a rocket then. ;)

He really just tries to answer media questions, honestly. I don't think he embelishes though, he's just waaay more truthful than other players. Most players will say they're healthy when they really aren't or they give a much more generic vague answer.

Either way i could care less if he was lying or not. I just want to get his best when it counts (playoffs), and i think we'll see that. If not, then i'll have something to get worked up about.

Are you joking? Everyone in the organization knew he was having foot pains because he talked to his DOCTORS. They didn't think it was a big deal until it started hurting him more and they did an XRay.

All Tracy has to say is "I'm a little stiff and need to strengthen some muscles but I will be back fine." It's over. No drama.

I guess I try to give some non high school basketball playing posters too much credit for their knowledge f hoops. All some of these guys do is whine when a player is honest, look at a players pay check as shackles on what they can and can't say, and call a guy soft or heartless when all he's done is lead the team to a 68% winning clip while 20 pts and 10rebs misses 60 games the last 2 yrs. Then they bring up kobe, whom I'm also a fan of, yet the gm didn't even think they would make the playoffs once Bynum went down.

Mcgrady isn't Artest in terms of toughness, but he's tougher than most people will ever give him credit for. U don't almost put up a tripledouble with a bad shoulder and knee. Not only that, he's the straw that stirs the drink. He gets shots for scrubs like rafer, battier, and hayes. Look at yao fg% without tracy. We want the truth, but don't want the truth. Go read the willie lynch papers and you'll see why so many atheletes are muzzled and try to be pc. As long as ur not dogging on a teammate, I could care less what he says.

Blahahahahahahahahah!! Classic memory you've given me, am I the only one who caught the reference?!? I've been a member for years and never write a thing, but with this, sir, you've beckoned me out of my nun-like vow of silence for the moment. You're Lebowski, Lebowski.

I thought there was nothing wrong with his statement except maybe giving too much detail on his shoulder than he needed to. So I ask myself, why did he do that? And I think he was in a no win situation. Well we can all see he came into media day looking suspiciously heavier than last year. He can’t be vague with his answer because he has to explain what everyone sees. The media isn’t stupid … they could see that he looked to have a rounder face so he can’t lie and pretend he’s been able to workout like he usually does. I think he was just preparing the fans except they don’t want to hear it. I would put myself in his shoes, he couldn’t have been happy about making those statement and coming into camp less than 100%.

I think Landry is going to have a very big year...we have more players that are a threat and can pass......Landry and Scola should both do very well.

Mcgrady is just trying to have us fly under the radar that's all.
