Oh, so because Kobe has had generally better teams and more favorable match ups in the playoffs they gives him the right to say he's hurt?

There's a big difference between whining and telling the truth. He is coming off two surgeries and has an arthritic shoulder. It's not like he has a bruise and is pointing to that. He has injuries that directly influence his ability to perform his job. If he struggles to have the explosiveness of old, we know why. It has nothing to do with a lack of commitment or lack of desire. He's older and more banged up and assuming otherwise is pulling something out of your ass.

This argument is r****ded. Y'all can be sheep wanting your players to lie to you, I don't care. It's because of crap like this that I can only come to Clutchfans for short periods of time before I get fed up with this BS.

he played through 2 injuries in the 2 parts of the body that are crucial for sports (knee and shoulder) last year. we lost the best center in the league mid-way through the season. everybody counted us out and yet tmac played 2 48 minute games during our magical streak to keep the streak going. in the playoffs, alston went out for 2 games. tmac took on more responsibilities and we played an extremely competitive series.

a mentally weak player would give up under those dire circumstances: multiple injuries, team injuries, things stacked against you...

again, you can say he's not a winner b/c he isn't. but the notion that he's physically or mentally weak should have been dispelled last year.

He ripped the thought right out of my mind. And I love TMACs game. But to hear him crying already, well, it pissed me off to say the least. It's like...here we are getting all geeked up about the season, talking about the awesome additions the Wizard pulled off, and how "Wall" is back and all the positives.....and...BAMMM!!! Tears streaming down his face...my knee...my shoulder...my back...my neck...my neck and my back. When asked about the toughness of Artest, all he had to do is say ,"THe guy is tough.." but he had to add..."I aint no punk!" Yes Mac, at times you do fill the role of punk when I see you wince every time you get up and down the court. Wipe that face the looks as you just tasted $h!+ and man up. If you keep that crap up this year...you WILL be getting punked by RON.

Exactly, he's making excuses. When he complains about something, he goes out and plays poorly. When Kobe is asked a question about an injury, he says "you have to be careful" and then goes out and scores 40. Tracy McGrady is a prima donna, but he's still good.

Talking about an injury can help other teams scout for you. Why do you think the Patriots never say anything substantial in their interviews? Because they don't want other teams using it against them. Tom Brady has been listed as questionable for the last 5 years.

Did you think it was good that tracy was being honest about wanting to play baseball? I'm sure your boss would love it if you went up to him 3 years before your contract was up and said you wanted to get into another field after they have spent so much money on you making you an integral part of the business. I bet Les wanted to shoot Tracy.
Sheep? It's people like you not thinking critically that are in a flock. Follow the other blind homer fans and support a prima donna for being a prima donna because of the jersey he has on.

Cheer for your players. Support them. But when they do something stupid, it is ok to be critical. It's the fans that buy the tickets that keep the NBA alive.
By all means, stay away then.

I'm pretty sure McGrady scored a crapload of points of pointing out the injury he had on his shoulder and knee.....

Lets all ask a honest question. What is going to break your heart more? Knowing it now or mid season. When are you going to flame more, now or when you know it mid season?

I think its time the media actually thought about other people's lives instead of their own damn rating and views. I wonder how some of these writers sleep at night knowing that they just posted an article to the world that promotes something wrong, in this case, lying to your fans.

exactly. had tmac and the docs kept a lid on this, and then we find out mind-season that's the reason for his play or injuries, imagine the backlash.

but from his interview yesterday, tmac said the shoulder arthritis is something he can deal with. only the knee is progressing slower than normal b/c this is the first time he has had surgery. that knee will be around 90% when the season starts.

the only thing is getting his conditioning and stamina back.

So is this the first "McGrady's a pansy" thread? When do the "FIRE ADELMAN!!!" and the mindless trade threads start?

Wrong. The team knows a LOT MORE about T-Mac's condition than that one quote.

It's just that the quote did nothing for the confidence of some overly-zealous fans. Stop being so damn sensitive.

Does it matter if T-Mac says "I'm regaining my strength, but I'll be good to go once the season begins," instead of "My knee is at 70-80% right now, but it should be back to 100% by the time the season starts." The end result is the same right?

The author is delusional if he thinks that quote effects the confidence of the team. Like I said, they know a lot more about him than the one sentence he said to a reporter. It is just effecting the confidence of the author and that doesn't mean a damn thing in the grand scheme of things.

I think he was referring to Landry's knee "problems," which was a major reason for the holdout.

I totally agree, T-macs words werent the one one who wants to WIN a championship. I was so excited for this season and still am, but I never have ever heard T-mac say. Im going to do what it takes to win. Maybe he has had so much pressure to take this team to the top these past few years. But thats why he gets the 19million. All I pray for is that Artest or someone realizes T-mac cant do it(until Im proved wrong) and takes the lead and gets us to where we need a championship. Its been to long and we have all been patient with this guy. We have the tools. McGrady looks exausted and I never see the heart of the champion Rudy T gave us. Ive seen more passion in Artest these past few years than T-macs tenure. Although he's had his troubles I see a winning desire from Artest. T-mac needs a break from our expectations, then maybe he'll be the great one or fall asleep. Tired of seeing T-Mac going through the motions. Especially this year when its going to be easier for him. My shoulder, My Knee, my back. No T-Mac, Its your head! Winning aint easy. As Apollo told Rocky, there aint no tommorrow!

Right on man, I totally agree, Im just going off on what T-Mac has showed us. He lacks the Heart. I hope he proves me wrong. Ill root for Ron now. Depending on how the season goes If T-Mac flakes out we should keep Ron and trade T-mac. We'll see what he does.

Relax folks. Everyone knows TMac is a whiner, but if he plays like he did after Yao went down he can help. If he doesn't so be it, Artest can definitely take his place and we may be better off for it.

I think he was referring to Landry's bust-out potential. Guys like Hollinger and most everyone else are expecting him to regress heavily with added playing time and a full season to contend with, but only a few people realize how offensively gifted he is.

I just can't figure out how real Rockets fans, those of us who want to know anything and everything about what's going on with each player and the team as a whole, can complain when they learn too much about a player's health. I mean, those details are pretty important if we want to have an accurate perspective on what to expect this season, and yet so many here apparently want to be blissfully ignorant about it. Like not knowing it will somehow make it go away. That's just bizarre to me.

I dont think its the point of being ignorant about his health. I think some of us would like to see him for once say he's going to battle. I wish I could put Battiers mentality into T-macs body. Know what I mean.

We don't see it as knowing everything about his health. We see it as Tracy making excuses before the season even starts.
