If a bunch of grown ass men lose hope because they're best player says he's not 100%, then they're looking for excuses. In fact, the good players see this as a chance to step up and play better while tracy gets better. Not only thathow many players can play like he did in the playoffs and right after the season need shoulder and knee surgery? It amazes me at some of the criticism mcgrady gets off this board or in the media.
I've heard talk about early retirement and it wouldnt surprise me either. In my view its not so much on basketball, it seems McGrady lacks passion about anything, PERIOD. What other interests outside of basketball does McGrady show passion in ? He's a good guy but its not like he's been meaning to work on getting his masters degree. f he retires so he can play more softball and sleep 15 hours instead of 12, really itd show everyone that they were right all along about him...but thats still a ways to go from happening... I didnt see McGrady's comments as him setting up for future failure. I took it as his body just sucks as usual, and he calmy reminded us about that. If he's always gonna be injuried whether he's tough or says the right thing or not, his injuried body is a very much annoying matter all to its own.
so you rather him "exaggerate" and say he will recover 100% when the season starts when him and the doctors fully know he needs further surgery on his shoulder and his knee is not 100%?? so if and when he does get injured, everybody is gonna flame on him? and then call him a whiner when he does say he has the proof to back it up with arthritis...? again, tmac is honest. i thought he was right saying this b/c it forces others to step up and he might have to take a lesser role early, which might be a good thing. with adelman knowing his status, tmac's responsbilities might be lighter earlier on so he can work his way back.
as much as i love mcgrady, the reporter is right. 2 questions: would kobe ever give an interview like that?? would michael??? **** sometimes i wish we'd get some intensity out of tmac. i dont care if its like KG intensity: "we're busting out the bazookas, the AKs, the glocks, the nines, the tanks, etc etc." i want to see that out of him.
Tracy is a bit of a softy, but we love him anyway................ Good thing we have a team full of beasts............. Who cares if he does'nt play? More time for the Artist baby!
Tracy is not Kobe nor Michael, he will never ever be on that fierce Magic/Bird level, but he is what he is...... And that is very valuable player for us..............
Yes... Q: Can you protect it more than you did at Minnesota? Bryant: You've just got to be careful. It's tough though. Especially when you're rebounding, offensive rebounds. It's always tough. But what more can I do? It's torn anyway. Link
Kobe is a warrior for playing a a bad pinky, but mcgrady is a p***y playing with a busted knee shoulder and bak all at the sametime mind you. stupid logic by a bunch bandwagon a certian player only fans.
Yeah, but Kobe's playoff reputation is actually favorable. Hell, you can say nearly anything when you've actually won a playoff series or two. Let alone a few titles here and there. McGrady saying the same thing worries you a lot because he's griping already and hasn't won anything except some regular-season crowns.
My 1st thought when I read this was "Is he for real?"!! Then I saw who posted it. Yep, he's 4REAL! Seems sorta hypocritical for him to want "easy on the ears" answers instead of "for real" truthfull answers. Just my opinion though.
I agree, what did you wanted from him? To say he's 100%? He's not, he's just telling the truth, nobody wants to be injured especially not on this team as hopes are higher than ever. He has problems with shoulder and knee and that's true, nobody wants a unhealthy TMac but we shouldn't escape the reality.
I think the reporters should just ignore him when he whines......ask him about the team and how much better it is.....but don't bother asking about his injuries etc....he exaggerates, and is probably a bit too honest.... Just don't print it...... Tmac will be fine, I think he will see a very athletic team around him and he will again have to "catch up" to them... Pay particular attention to Landry.....this year.... This sums up how I feel about McGrady. I like how the author made sure you knew he was pro-tmac. I am pro-tmac. I don't think he will ever be the same old super productive tmac, but with age comes wisdom. He can't do the things he once could, but he realized he must tweak his game to his strengths, and now we see a better all-around player/leader than we did in the old days. I would not argue that he is any longer on the short list of top tier SG/SF anymore, simply one half notch below. Tracy needs to know what not to say. It's like he is building in an excuse for when he gets hurt. I don't know why he does it. It's not about honesty in a world of lies. Maybe somehow he feels if he lowers expectations, people will be really excited when he does well and not that upset when he does bad? Maybe it's just attention. Don't get me started on him playing baseball.
Again who cares? He says this basically every week of the season every season, and he still goes out and performs.
Kahn? the German goalkeeper? Dirk proclaimed that the Germany national football team would be able to win the championship on the worldcup 06 which was held in Germany, say Germans are the host. As host, they didn't have too much excuse to miss the cup and they were a big contender for that. However, Germany football team was beaten by Italy team in half final. Dirk was not able to eat his comments before mavs was beaten in the NBA finals. Kahn was the lineup GK in only one game that was the 3or4 final againest Portugal.
