no it was random stuff. interesting here, I'm getting statements that 50% of the people don't know Dream, while during the Dream post people say this was dumb cause everyone knows Dream and the people who got the answer wrong did that on purpose! to me, its pretty simple. when the show Rockets games in Houston, there are banners up in the rafters. those banners were achieved by blood, sweat, tears, and heart. so that 50% will notice what its all about.
dude i know the history, I know who Wilt Chamberlan is, I know who Jerrry West is. I honestly will admit i know none of Elvis's songs by name. Honestly all I'm trying to say is I can't worship it the same way you do. Its not that important to me. Retired jerseys and the people that worn them deserve my respect, but it doesn't mean that I have to worship them to the degree you do. It doesn't make me any less of a passionate rockets fan. Its like saying a person moving to another country should know the history off by heart and be just as patriotic about its history. How can I honestly like Hakeem to the degree you do. You've actually seen him play. Felt the championship glory, felt the hard times, the good times. I have felt nothing of the sort only meaningless you tube videos. Can you honestly say if you were in my position you would feel just as passionate about Hakeem?
If you're a casual fan you may not know who Elgin Baylor is, or why it's news that he just retired out of the Clippers organization. But that's all you are, a casual fan. Don't expect to get any respect from guys who have been following the NBA, or a favorite team like the Rockets, for years.
I like INXS when they had Michael Hutchence instead of the new dude which they found on the tv show. My beef is not with you specifically, its the soulja boys here who don't know about eric b and rakim or tupac. When you start putting individual players that have not accomplished anything over players that helped give the organization pride, then something's wrong. When people start passionately telling me that Jordan is so great and that Dream never made to the Finals when he played, I tell them.. twice 86 and 95.
