Why is mcgrady so overrated in you're eyes?. is it because you think he is dragging yao down?. or is not letting yao get enough shots. thats the feeling amongst all yao-only-fans.
I won't say Yao only fans, both players have their share of blames (to be honest I blame many things on JVG and the rest of the Rocket players. Still I respect JVG now that he isn't coaching anymore). The thing is, the difference between bashing and criticizing is obvious. One is just annoying, the other can be reasoned with. McGrady has his part in blames, but that doesn't mean he is responsible for every rocket players' mistakes. Our time is now, we should be reuniting instead of encouraging these crap writers. Good Journalisms are nowhere to be found these days, always covered up by more "interesting" articles with nothing but bashes and insults. Luckily, these Articles was what drove the Rockets last year, but still, it took us around the 18th win to actually get the top news in sports page.
2003 - blew 3-1 lead against Pistons 2005 - blew 2-0 lead against Mavericks, including a 40 point loss in game 7 2007 - blew 2-0 lead and homecourt advantage against Jazz 2008 - blew homecourt advantage against Jazz
What the hell is all this bickering about? Yao lovers? Tracy lovers? This argument is as useful as a bidet in a lion's den.
Lets see... He dislikes contact. As a result, he settles for jumpers and rarely attacks the basket. When he does, he will try to contort his body to avoid contact which makes it a difficult shot. He has poor shot selection (heat check 3's) Poor free throw shooter. He's a good rebounder, but if he gets a long rebound, he will rarely instigate a fast break. He prefers to bring it up slowly. He doesn't have a killer instinct. Doesn't move off the ball.
Must we look into McGrady's team each time? We already know he had a bad team against Pistons, its a Miracle they even managed to win 3 games. Most people in this world cannot even name 2 or 3 other notable player in that team except McGrady and the did-nothing-Grant Hill (I still love the guy though). As for the Mavericks game... <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/G29_k6aMH-Q&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/G29_k6aMH-Q&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object> <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/mNNkyJCnS3Y&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/mNNkyJCnS3Y&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object> and of course. <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/abgM8NLLV2E&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/abgM8NLLV2E&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object> As for the game against Jazz. McGrady has his share of blames definately, but so does Yao and the rest of the Rockets team. Bottom line is. McGrady deserves criticism, a lot as well for his crap interviews and the use of wrong terms. But he doesn't deserve the kinda insults you throw at him AntiSonic. So lets give this a break?
Yes, but neither of the other two have batman tendencies either. I'm glad we have Artest because i'm tired of hearing 'this is the year it becomes Yao's team'...i don't care whose team it is, just get past the freakin first round.
Are you suggesting Artest or Yao to be Batman? I don't get you guys. What has Artest or Yao won that you think they will help the team win more than McGrady?
You have to win something to be batman on a team? If everyone is healthy I don't see why all three can't be candidates. All three of them have shown to be go-to-guys in the NBA.
Yeah I am kind of sick of everyone saying that it needs to be Yao or Artest's team...last I checked, Yao hadn't proven much in his first three post season performances or as the team's #1 option (without T-Mac), and Artest is a career 38% shooter in the post season while showing absolutely nothing in his career that he can be THE go-to guy. Say what you want about him, T-Mac is still by far the most proven #1 option on the team who has shown time and time again that he can elevate his play and take on that burden. We all want Yao to be that #1 guy because history has proven that teams with big men as the go-to guy win championships, but I am just not convinced that Yao can be that guy yet. We all love Artest's toughness and physicallity, but he is much better suited as a third wheel. Everyone rags on T-Mac for his shortcomings...questionable attitude, shot selection, people in the stands ordering Heinekens and getting Budweisers, etc... But, when it all comes down to it, he is still the guy who will be the primary ballhandler, facilitator and go-to scorer.
Fair enough. but what about yaos short comings.in you're posts you seem to be making all the excuses for yao but you bash mcgrady for the same reasons.
Yao has been stepping up?. when exactly is that. the series against the mvas?. or the series okur and boozer embrassed him. or last season in his suits.if mcgrady gets blamed for his short comings then so should yao.
I make excuses for Yao when people expect him to do things physically impossible for a man of his height and frame (i.e. outrunning Boozer for loose balls). As you see it, what are Yao's shortcomings?
Who is Robin, Who is Batman Who cares? All 3 can be the best player on the court on any given night, that's all that matters.
