The Timberwolves actually had some pretty good assets they could’ve used to improve their team...Derrick Williams is a waste on that team since he's a 4 playing behind probably the best PF in the league....They could've used him, picks (their own, UTA, MEM), and Miller/Webster's non-guaranteed deals to really upgrade their wing situation if Kahn was smart enough.

Instead they overpaid to acquire Budinger, paid Brandon Roy and his shredded knees $5M, wasted a bunch of time by offering Batum an illegal contract and lost some good free agents in the process…And now they’re paying someone to take their recent high lottery pick off their hands so they can make an offer to a washed up Kirilenko.

Probably the worst offseason of any team.

I could see the Wolves being a .500 team next year. They have a decent core. Kinda devalues their pick.

Wow, I didn't think it could get any worse and it looks like they're offering a washed up Kirilenko $9M/year.

    <blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p>Story/ Sources: Wolves target Kirilenko w/$9M a year offer, would trade Wes and 1st to make cap room<a href="http://t.co/5If8reoR" title="http://bit.ly/NVt6Zv">bit.ly/NVt6Zv</a></p>&mdash; Jerry Zgoda(@JerryZgoda) <a href="https://twitter.com/JerryZgoda/status/227986828228165632" data-datetime="2012-07-25T04:41:10+00:00">July 25, 2012</a></blockquote>

The Wolves own a lotto protected MEM 1st rounder, pretty sure this is the pick being offered. Likely be in the early 20s, I'd take it for 1 yr $4m of Wes Johnson contract.

I don't know anything about the guy,but it can be easy to get into Rick's doghouse and end up buried on the bench

I'm pretty sure he started every game he was healthy for last season. He just sucks miserably.

Morey would never devalue his players by having too many in the same position.

So the TWolves are gonna deal one of their very few remaining black players for a white player? God they are such a white team. Sorry for noticing, but I can't help it.
Rubio, Barea, Budinger, Kirilenko, Ridnour, Love, Pekovic, Hummel, Stiemsma, and formerly Milicic.

He's that bad. If a team truly wants to win a championship, they don't want Wes Johnson in their rotation (much less as a starter). There isn't a single thing he does average and no legit reason to think that will change anytime soon.

When you consider he's only played 2 seasons, it's possible he gets it going. But when I watched Minny last year, he may as well have been invisible while on the floor.

9 million a year for Kirilenko at this stage of his career is a joke

They could have had a 4/5 rotation of Cousins/Love/Jonas V.

    Idiots.

I would much rather have Wes Johnson and a first round pick over Marcus Morris. Wes Johnson is an athletic prospect and he is still young. I think he will have a breakout season soon. This kid is a very good athlete and he is a low risk high reward type of player right now because of his rookie salary along with a first round from the Wolves.
