The Rockets think Martin was undervalued by other teams because of concerns that he's majorly injury-prone. Morey said that according to the medical opinion he has consulted, Martin's injuries were more of the fluke variety. He doesn't have a bad back or gimpy knee, for example.

We'll see. I think its a safe bet that Scola will play more games next year than Martin, but if Martin can be productive for 65+ games and be healthy for the playoffs, sure he can be a significant part of a championship-caliber team.

I can see an argument for him being injury prone but K-brick?? Maybe I'm missing something but isn't he the most efficient shooter on our team?

I've never seen a thread started with a threat that you'll be kicked out. I thought only Clutch had the ability to do that.

I wouldn't say he's washed up but just soft... his demeanor, defense, and his game while he gets to the freethrow line only because he sales the contact.

Probably not the smartest thread when you think about the majority of users on here. KMart is their new basketball boyfriend, and you criticize him.
    Personally, I think he's alright...but no more.

Hi, unilke most I appreciate varied viewpoints on the board. If everyone had the same opinion the board would be very boring and nothing would be gained or learned.

I also appreciate your graph. Im not going to bash it because it looks simple. In fact, its easier to understand than just simple numbers.

I dont like how you used kbrick or criticized Morey. I like Kev Martin and he will be better when Yao opens up more.

I just wished you didnt criticize kmartin or morey, because I learned alot from your post about Martins injuries. I knew he was injury prone, but I didnt know he was declining each year.

Now Im worried. After just 15 games with Rockets he now has a separated shoulder . I like his hustle, but he is the skinniest player in nba and drawing these fouls will cause further injury.

Its good he draws fouls, but he needs to pump iron along with Hill this summer. Otherwise he will get more injuries. I assume all the injuries are from contact. He needs to gained more muscle.

There, I just said the same thing you did but in a nice way.

JCDenton, how mature or unbiased is it calling Martin "Kbrick"? Martin was coming off injury in Sactown and was playing hurt the last few games with the Rockets. A Brooks and Martin backcourt more than showed how they can light it up on the offensive end. With a healthy Yao I can see that only improving.

Now, if you want to focus on whether or not he can stay healthy all season, then you may have something there. Otherwise this thread has a one star rating for a reason.

I'm surprised DM haven't hired you yet to be his successor. You're clearly smarter than him what was he thinking when he traded for K-brick?

Interesting stats. So you extrapolate the results of 3 seasons over the remainder of the contract and determine that he won't be playing more than 20 games per year by the end of his contract. Very enlightning stuff, but never fear it won't matter. Here's what I mean:

Trevor Ariza's scoring average went from 8.9 pts/game last season to 15.2 pts/game this season. That's an incredible 71% increase in his scoring average. When you extrapolate that increase over the reamainder of his contract he'll be averaging 25.96 pts next season, 44.34 pts in year 3 of his deal, 75.72 in year 4 and a cool 129.32 pts/game in the final year of his contract. So with Ariza averaging 129 pts/ game by himself does it really matter if Martin is playing or not?

    Let me ask everyone this:

Would you describe Martin as a "mere role player"?
