There is too many things wrong with your analysis, but does it matter. I mean when he was on a team that had virtually nobody and depended on him for mostly everything don't you think his numbers are going to be high. Then put in injury and now have him on a team that is more diverse in scoring and doesn't need him to be the biggest scorer in order for them to win. Some things you just can't graph.

JCDenton, you are quickly becoming one of my fav posters on the board. Your trolling is hilarious with all your "detailed statistical analysis" and with an Excel sheet. You own the internet, my friend.

Yeah, he totally ignored Martin's injuries over the last few years. I mean, it's not like he addressed them directly upon acquiring Martin..

Oh wait, he did. You fail.

Interesting post. You make a point in identifying Martin's recent efficiency in games played but how does this play into forecasting the Rocket's future success? The scope of your argument just talks about how Martin's output has declined.

You have to remember that Martin came from Sacramento where he was responsible for the bulk of the load. Here in Houston, we have many options including Brooks, Ariza, Scola. That changes everything from Martin's perspective. The addition of Yao next year will probably drop Martin's productivity even lower (which probably could enforce your point) but that doesn't mean the Rockets will do any worse. Could it?

I like your post but I think you're the one whose counting trees and not seeing the entire forest.

if you're using games played to gauge his "decline", then that's just plain stupid.

And if that's a "highly detailed graph" can you show me one that isn't highly detailed?

I challenge others to post "highly detailed " graphs of other players with similar "declines" that went on to play near full or full seasons the rest of their careers. Trust me there's plenty out there.

JC if i were you i'd be careful, you're almost at the point where Morey himself is going to jump in here and give you hell.....

Sorry Redao, that wasnt directed at you, I was going to say your graph makes sense using JC's "reasoning", great point.

    Some things boggle my mind.

I wanna know who promoted this guy to member status?

Someone should do him like what happened to BecoMIngThEbEST, demoted to rookie status!

Thank you for this reply. It's encouraging that although we disagree, we can exchange ideas in a professional way without personal attacks. I do agree with you that some decline in output is expected when moving to a better team, and that type of decline doesn't reflect poorly. However, my thread is more about if he can contribute consistently on a nightly basis. Most K-brick supporters cite stats like "points per game" and "free throw percentage" while ignoring the actual number of games. It is my opinion though that he would be more useful at 20ppg playing 75 games than at 24ppg playing 45 games.

No, he's currently shooting 0% from the field. If he can't even stay on the court I'll expect HtownBBall to retire.

are you serious? What happened to "im a man of my word"....you just confirmed about a day ago that he was in fact shooting over 40% currently and you'd leave if it stuck until the end of the season? That's worse than any of your threads, how do you expect anyone to respect you even one bit after that?

Wait, 'K-brick'? Where did that come from? Is someone really thinking they came up with a nickname because they stuck in the word 'brick'?!?
