    Strikeforce HW Champion, Alistair Overeem, fought in the tourney and...

    won the 2010 K-1 Grand Prix. He kinda had an easy road and it was his tournament to lose with Badr Hari out and Remy Bonjansky not in the tournament. His Quarter Final opponent fought with a broken arm but was actually winning exchanges until he could no longer compete because of his arm. Not the most exciting fights in K-1 history but its interesting to see a MMA fighter compete in K-1 and win it all. Overeem is a very dangerous fighter but I think he's peaking at the right time with Aerts being past his prime, Badr Hari battling legal problems and facing jail time, and Schilt losing to Aerts in the Semis.

    Nice thanks for posting the links. Not alot if MMA fans know about Overeem, due to him being on strikeforce, but I believe he is a threat to any heavyweight. Clearly he has better stand up credentials than all the other heavyweights including Ufc champ Velasquez. That mixed with the fact that he also has a slick ground game, winning alot of his fights by submission makes him extremely dangerous. Cain and Jds better hope he doesn't sign to the UFC. I see him beating wedrum for the title in strikeforce also.

    Aerts is such a beast.....he may have lost the final but he won the hearts of everyone. The 3rd round vs Semmy was the stuff of legends. Credit to Overeem he overcame a very tough first fight, but the rest of his fights were versus injured opponents. However that's what the grand prix is all about. I want to see Semmy Schilt vs Overeem immediately.
