Van Gundy gave more of a chance to his players then, RA is. Bonzi was fortunate to play even that much last year. People get this in your head: FAT PLAYERS ARE IN EVERYBODY'S DOGHOUSE. Seriously, JVG on some nights played every player he could to find the right combination and people say he doesn't give players a chance. Ridiculous.
I remember Bonzi was playing pretty well when he got some playing time, but then he kept coming down with minor injuries that forced him to keep missing games here and there. Bonzi's been implying this year that these were phantom injuries that JVG made up. JVG's not saying so I guess we'll never know.
Awesome. JVG was a tyrant and Adelman was a player's coach a month ago. Now, RA is worse than JVG because he won't play the fan favorite who couldn't even shine against rookies and D-leaguers during the preseason. Bring on the photo-chopped Adelman/Hitler pics.

How is that a SF problem? IN Orlando SF did not pound the crap out of the ball. I live in Orlando, watched him play on many nights. He did exactly what was expected of him. He had a bad run in NY and NY only. Undertandable considering, AS ALREADY NOTED a million times, he was wanted by Coach Brown, once Brown left, Steve was left on an island to defer to everyone else. It is AMAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAZING anyone can call Steve a bad player. A three time all star, a guy who carried some crappy rockets teams with players like Walt Wizard, Carlos Rogers, Mo Taylor to winning seasons. It is AMAAAAAAAAAAAAZING you would call Steve and his abilities poor, yet defend players like Luther Head and RAFER ALSTON. LOL, it makes you look foolish.
LOL. I remember Steve playing well in the ONE game he got minutes at the end against Memphis. Actually, he set people up, ran the offense, scored, got to the line, and carried the third stringers in the two overtimes. WTF are you talking about. And Steve has a career of outplaying most of the PGs in this league. Isnt only him and Oscar Robertson who started their careers averaging 20-6-6 as a guard? Yeah, thats pretty steep territory to be in for a player who is a terrible player. Reming me of Rafers lifetime accomplishments? Remind me of his stats for a career?
I hate to say it but JVG does give people chance. Bonzi started the season out of shape last year BUT JVG did let him play a few games. When he played bad, that's when Jeff benched him. But he utlized him at least periodically in the season when Tmac or Yao was out. We already know RA won't play Francis when he's out of shape. Now, if Adelman won't even use Francis when Tmac is out, I don't know what to say...
You mean the game where he played well against scrubs for one quarter on the offensive end only to get lit up by a rookie on the other end. Who won that game anyway? I'll bet he is just killing everyone in practice too but Adelman just can't stand to see Stevie get time even though he is obviously the best PG on the team. Stop pulling up stats from years ago unless you are going to start arguing that Mutombo should start over Yao based on what he did in his rookie season.
I would like to trust Adelman but given Alston, James and Head's recent performances I'm have a hard time buying that they are so much better than Francis.
I watched the Spurs/Maverics game. Spurs lost. But Pop played all the 12 players on the roster. Is it one of the reasons that the spurs team is such a good organization? They developed so many players from their drafts.
Adelman needs to just let the guys play. Give all the players a chance to show themselves out on the floor and let them create a natural identity. JVG never had that mentality, but at least he won games for us.
Geez... The age range of posters is so evident around here now. Clutch might as well open a virtual daycare. You mean to tell me that after 9 GAMES, we have some who hate the coach and want him fired?
