I don't blame Pop for what's wrong with the Spurs. The problem is they are old. Bowen is 1/2 the player he was 3 years ago. Horry has declined. Their bench is just weak. Earlier in the season they were tearing people up. I expect they will do so again later on. They will make a late season push as usual. But when the playoffs happen, their tank will be low. They are the 5th best team in the West because of talent and depth, not Pop.

I just went through four pages and I can't believe that nobody talks about Bonzi Wells. Didn't you guys watch last year playoffs? Bonzi just plainly ABUSED Ginobli. It was ridiculous. When the Bonz gets into shape it will be like the old times: remember, Ginobli played for the Spurs 12 years ago, however he had a different name then, his name was Vinny del Negro. Bonzi Wells vs. Ginobli will be the repeat of Clyde Drexler vs. Vinny del Negro.
you're right. Bonzi was a huge reason we won the second game. And I thought he was big in the 3rd game, too, except for all the TOs. When we were at SA with the Red Rowdies, I had so much funny yelling at Popovich..."Don't Forget To Guard Bonzi!" It was like they forgot about the playoffs. just silly. ginobody has no chance to guard Bonzi. and he has no chance to guard TMac, either. quite a dilemma. Pops just might have to sit ginobody down. all we need to do is get AI and Superman (Melo) on Nash's side of the draw so they can tag team him. I'm not so certain Nash should try to outrun them...but he will try. We can do Dallas and SA. We just need Denver to take out Nash.

I've been impressed with what JVG has done, especially since Yao went down. It's amazing that we've won like we have with all the injuries. But, there's another factor which I think has helped us, and that's Mr. Morey and his statistical knowledge management approach to the game. His value hasn't just been in selecting the right players. Information is being collected on opponents that addresses tendencies and weaknesses and crunched on computers, giving us information we've never had before. And, I think it is additional information that has been very useful to JVG.
