JVG "We left Steve out there stranded on an Island"

My problem was the execution of the play, not the fact that he took the shot.

Franchise PGs are supposed to be able to create something out of nothing, Francis didn't do a very good job of it.

 

I disagree that a bounce pass wouldn't have been knocked out of bounds, but even if it had gotten to JJ, then there was certainly enough time for Manu to get up in JJ's face and prevent a good shot, and even worse the ball would have been trapped in the corner.

If what we are talking about here is Francis' bad shot vs. a bad shot from JJ then it doesn't really debunk JVG's statement that Francis was stranded on an island.

In that screenshot Francis is all the way on the right, near the bench. JJ is on the left side of the perimeter, do you expect Francis to throw a pass all the way across the court and have JJ take the shot in 2 seconds?

 

You are correct that in that screen shot JJ is open, but not at an angle to recieve the ball. The angle is cut off from STeve's defender.

 

why does anyone need a screenshot when the clip of the play has already been posted?

Do you seriously think that any nba player could of pulled off that pass to JJ. I would rather have a horrible shot attempt then having a TO and not having achance to shoot at all
