completely agree... I believe that it's either going to be Miami or San-Antonio to win it all this year.. they are the only two that are playing winning basketball... I like to watch Pheonix because they are fun to watch, but they dont play winning basketball.. they just play to entertain...and I dont like Detroit, I think a good D will shut them down and kill them.. just put a Mario Elie on billups, cover the pick&roll with Rasheed, keep Ben off the boards, and deal with Rip and Prince, and they're done..

and talking about imagining, we dont have to.. look at what we did in 04-05.. we almost took Dallas down with Wesley, Barry, and Sura shooting , with Padgett and Rybo at the 4, and with an undeveloped Yao... now with a dominant Yao, Healthy T-mac and Sura, average 4 who can rebound and play D, a good SG ( from the draft, hopefully Reddick), and a bunch of other good shooting bench &role players.. we will be unbeatable...

Not sure if Sura can still come back, doubt he still has it in him.

    33+13=46 -----barbourdg's  's
    46+18=64 -----JVG's 's
64-33=31 -----difference between my  's and JVG's  's
31^2=961 ------ square roots of the difference between my  's and JVG's  's

I disagree. We want Yao, T-Mac, and the 4 to be taking the shots - with those players we don't need spot of 3's like we did in the hakeem era. T-mac changes that equation. What we need are guys who can dribble penetrate and then dish to Yao or T-mac or and open 4 on the baseline. We need players who can create opportunities for our stars who are amazing scorers. It's silly to waste T-macs talents in creating opportunities for spot up 3 pointers.

you have a point, but I think GREAT players are great because they creat shots for themselves.. they dont need a "DRIVE&DISH" player for them to shine.. they attract the double team open up their team-mates for open shots.. that's the right strategy ...

I am with you. Pick up the best available in the draft. Do not be stupid to pick up the most suitable one .

After reading that article, here's my prediciton for the Rockets picks:

    8. Rodney Carney 6-7

..Brandon Roy and Rudy Gay, the Rockets first two on the board will be gone by their 8th pick, so they take the next player on their board which is Rodney Carney. A big guard/small forward who has the ability to shoot the 3 pointer and a pesky defender who fits JVG's style.

    36. Kevin Pittsnoggle 6-10

..Perhaps the best shooting big man from beyond the three point line in the draft. JVG has made it known he wants a four who can shoot from long range to spread the defenses and create space for Yao Ming and Kevin Pittsnoggle fills that role perfectly.

sounds reasonable...we have several options, none outstanding but none that are completely horrible. solid additions, i would like carney but im hoping hes available when we pick. if jvg wants mid-to-long range, pittsnoggle should be his man; its probably our best bet in a read-the-fine-print draft class. i just wish i could watch games next year where yao is not alone near the basket, itd be nice to get some real help on the glass.

it looks likes we might pick carney judging by JVG's statement and most mock drafts.

as for the second pick...probably a PG. JVG wants 3 PG's, not to play at the same time as some posters thought, but to play as 1st-3rd string. he just wants to have 3 guys that can play point on the team in case of injury. a second round PG would make a nice 3rd stringer.

bring in vspan as a backup. he looks like he's equal to sarunas who i wouldn't mind as our backup PG. good passer and shooter.

i'd like to bring in tim thomas with the majority of the MLE (some will be used on vspan). he can backup at the 3 and 4.

    yao-deke
    jho-stro-hayes
    tmac-tt-bowen
    carney-head-sura
    alston-vspan-2nd pick

Right, but even great players get bogged down with double teams and it helps to get them easier shots. It would be nice to see T-mac shooting near the 50% instead of having to work so hard on every possession to get a score.

And no one is saying the point guards will be ones that can't hit an open J. We just need guys with a pass first mentality that are capable of breaking down defenses and leaving T-mac and Yao in more offensively threatning positions.

I think we have an agreement here.. Alston is not the right player for this team ( can dish but cant shoot).. .and Sura is the perfect fit for this team (HOPE HE COMES BACK FULL SPEED)..!!
and for the question in ur sig... the answer is YES... Bobby is the Man..
