The TNT announcing team of JVG, Fratello, and Marv Albert was money. They had great chemistry together and were always fun. I'll be watching

Van Gundy sounds completely different when he's commentating or he's being interviewed on the radio. He'll actually sound like a half-way pleasant person.

And, when did you talk with him... or hang out with him... in practice or the game situations where he's apparently a completely different monster?

Van Gundy is a good commentator- he should be- the man knows his basketball. I look forward to it and will tune in.

I was comparing that to how he sounds in the press conferences after games.

was reading an article while back, in this article, everyone was praising communication skills. T-mac was praising his sense of humor. yao was praising his basketball know how. the guy who rants and rave on the sideline is a competitive son of a gun who is trying to win. i would'nt have it any-otherway. i rather have a coach who cares then a mellowed out coach who just sits there.

you're right, he's the cheeriest mother****er to ever walk the earth.

i actually liked jvg as a commentator back in the day, and as someone said, the fratello/jvg/marv crew was really good. maybe this'll make me dislike the guy less for a few months.

I was never impressed by that combination. JVG and Fratello fought on the air all the time, I didn't know if it was just for entertainment purpose or what, but I found that was very annoying.

I actually liked the group with Danny Ainge, John Thompson and Kevin Harlan. That group seemed having great chemistry and Danny Ainge was very funny.
