    Charvo,

Getting post position is leg and low back strength, not upperbody strength. Upper body strength would come into play when finishing shots after being hit on the arm.

Yao should definitelt be able to improve strength in his torso to improve his ability to gain position. The difference in Yao and Shaq is not strength, it is power. Strength is the ability to generate a large amount of force absent a time factor. Power is the ability to apply force quickly. This requires specific types of training, and I think this is where needs to improve to become a low post monster. In game situations you have a vey limited time to apply force, and power training improves the ability to do this.

While I will agree that the zone defenses make it tougher to post up, it isn't impossible. To remedy the zone you have to be able to shoot. If the defense sags down on Yao the shooters have to make them pay. It will create a pick your poison situation for the defense.

SF is having a better year this year because of Grant Hill. Hill takes alot of the PG duties away from SF, allowing him to play more like a SG (which should be his natural position). Last night SF ha 5 assists and 5 TOs, and he also got several stupid offensive fouls causing him to foul out. I don't think that JVG caused SF's problems, SF just isn't a traditional PG and that is what JVG tried to see if SF could become. The experiment failed, not JVGs fault. Overall, in time, we will end up coming out way ahead in that trade.
