    Magic?
I'm sorry, but as long as Vince Carter is your perimeter player, i doubt you'll have better record/do better then the lakers or the heat barring injury.

Take a look at last year's regular season standings. The Magic finished two games ahead of the Lakers, with VC.

Unless you count the Lakers doing it with two different rosters (Wilt/Logo/Goodrich and Magic/Kareem/Worthy), the '76ers doing it with two different rosters (Dr. J/Moses/Cheeks and Dr. J/Collins/Chocolate Thunder), the Bulls (Jordan/Pippen/Rodman), or the Celtics dynasty with any three of (Russell/Sharman/Havlicek/Cousey/Heinsohn).

Yeah and did pretty much NOTHING to get better.

Lakers got better, everyone's healthy and I think if they got the same luck with injuries as Orlando did - they would of came out w/ the better record.

I still think they can finish with a better record than the Lakers this year too. The bottom of the East is very weak and will give them a lot of easy wins. That's something the Lakers won't get as much of in the West.

Kobe was playing with a bad knee, a fluid drain did wonder in the first round. Since a phantom elbow injury was enough to make LeBron choke, I guess LeBron is much more vulnerable. He's been injury free the entire career, but you never know.

If averaging 29.1 points, 9.3 rebs, 7.3 asssits, 2.2 steals, 1.3 blocks in the playoffs is choking, then every player in the NBA is choking in the playoffs.

According to goodbug logic, as long as your teammates bail you out no matter how bad you are bricklaying your not choking. And if you play great but your team loses, you did.

Just out of curiousity, why did you add the "Nus" to a great name like Octavius?

West/East has been pretty even this coming season then it has been in a while power-wise.

Agree bottom of East is easy, but still Lakers are undeniably the best team in the West, can't say the same about Orlando being even top 2.

Because he didn't get his teammates involved and he couldn't take over in crunch time. Wade had even better numbers but his team didn't have a chance at all.

The queen was looking for his own numbers but utilizing his teammates like they're Heat's roles. Just proved how low his basketball IQ was. When was the last star player played like an all star in Cavs?

He did make it easier for them to pad their offensive rebound totals.

Just caught up with Jeff Van Gundy, who keeps raising stakes on Miami. JVG says that he "wouldn't be surprised" if Heat go unbeaten at home.

    Wow JVG, just wow

I love all Chicago comparisons while ignoring 2 key elements in Chicago's favor.

    1- Phil Jackson
    2- Defense

Miami has the best offensive talent arguably put together in a long time.

There is more to it than Wade being better than Pippen or James being better than Pippen and Miller being a better shooter than Kerr and Bosh being better than any big they had offensively.

I know what Stan is trying to do, but even then it's silly to ignore that the Bulls had the 3 of the top 5 best defensive players in the NBA with Rodman, Jordan and Pippen. They also had a system that made ball dominant players work together and the best coach in basketball.

All the dynasties had a great defensive foundation.

Kareem, Rambis/AC Green. Scott/Worthy could defend the wings.
Jordan, Pippen, Rodman. Bigs that took hard fouls and clogged the paint.
Shaq inside, Kobe/Fox/Horry as quality defenders. Kobe was a Pippen level defend at times.

Even our current version Lakers - Kobe, Artest are elite defenders on the outside. Odom, Gasol/Bynum is a lot of length and size to protect you inside. We have a very sound defensive foundation.

Miami can win a title but I'm not ready to say they are in that class at all. They lack defense and an interior game that is comparable to the dynasties. If they win a title this year or with this roster, it will be based on having a much better offense than anyone and a solid defense. The gap on O will have to compensate for the lack of a strong D when compared to Boston, LA. To me for Miami to succeed this year they'll need to play a lot of zone and look for steals on D, gamble a lot. This will allow them to run the break with their best athletes and at the same time have the offensive weapons to win games down the stretch with their superstars. I don't think they are comparable to any dynasty in recent memory at all.

I don't think egos will be a problem because all three of them knew what they were getting into by going to the same team
