he also said Tracy was "still TOP DOG!" .. as the camera panned on a lowly Tracy sitting on the bench.. during a poor performance.. after two consecutive single-digit point games.. this season..
JVG knows what he's talking about. Most Rockets fans have written off McGrady because they've seen how bad he looks when trying to play injured. Most NBA fans wrote off the Rockets in this series because they saw them stumble against the Mavericks (and saw the Blazers subsequently dismantle the Nuggets). It's the same thing. It's called myopia. I called Rockets in five immediately after the Mavs loss. It's a great matchup for Houston. This is the playoffs. Regular season doesn't matter any more. Matchups matter.
any chance we get JVG back for the mascot/commentator/assistant coach/cheerleader multi role and pay him real big?
i seriously doubt the part on Tracy.. but i'll happily eat crow if/when he comes back next season and actually plays like a top 10 player again.. and though i'm pleased with the Rockets victory.. and manner of victory tonight.. i'm not entirely content about it.. and at ease as to measuring their future prospects.. the Rockets in this game.. showed that they are truly the better team.. and will roll over any team that demonstrates the slightest absence of a spine.. as i replied in the "underdog?" thread.. it was utter nonsense to consider them so against any team that isn't the Lakers.. in any tangible manner.. it really isn't a matter of match-ups here.. with this team.. they match-up well against any and every team in this league.. including the Jazz.. this whole "Okur drags him out to the perimeter or negates him on defense" is foolishness.. by that same token Yao should be demolishing such soft interior.. on the other end.. but it doesn't happen.. because it's all in their head.. i stick by with my stance.. that this team.. in theory.. is more than capable of blowing out a Blazers or Hornets team.. in the playoffs.. equally so in taking the Lakers to 7 strong games.. maybe even manage a series win.. because they are the best team as far as their palpable composition and makeup to challenge them.. however.. it's up to them to make it so.. they truly pose their own biggest problem.. they tend to shy away when the pressure gets high.. officiating gets a little shoddy.. and the other team.. begans to show unrelenting backbone and fight.. they start to panic.. and self-destruct.. so let us see how well they do this postseason.. against a team.. that starts to fight back..
I'd love JVG as a rocket's broadcaster but that would never happened he's gonna get a coaching gig soon
not a blowout i think in terms of a single game victory but he did say the rockets would win in 5. which would meaning winning at least 2 games in portland which would be pretty much dominating the entire series and the portland team
Portland can't really Front Yao. The problem with that is that Portland has terrible inside the paint defense. If Pryz or Oden was in front of Yao, the lane is wide open. The third game of the series proved that. I believe that's why Nate chose not to front Yao and rather use a different approach.
No,Actually I have Re-computed Offensive Rating for the last 26 games of Rockets. Why the last 26 games? Our roster finally stabilized since then. The result is nearly 110(9th in 30), the highest ranking in the last ten years! You know what, we are having the BEST Rocket in the last ten years!
I wish he was the commentator for this game/series instead of the chick who didn't know what she was talking about.
Yea, 5 year contract. http://www.bizofbasketball.com/inde...-year-agreement&catid=48:television&Itemid=61
Exactamundo! She flip flopped soooooo hard in that game. She was all up Portland's shorts... and then she was all, "look at that disparity." Whatever, chick. Go put on a turtleneck.
I've been drinking so please forgive me, but I don't understand this writing style. Am I pausing at all the "..."s?
JVG is easily one of the best commentators I've seen in a while. He really knows his ****. Like the call he made on Kobe getting the offensive rebound after a missed free throw. It was late in the game, Lakers were shooting free throws, and JVG says, "Watch out for Kobe right here. He usually takes advantage of young players when rebounding on free throws." Next thing you know, Kobe gets the rebound and the Lakers win the game because of it. My mind was blown... and he does that CONSTANTLY. I completely agree. She was horrible.
I was pumped when I heard him say that during the Cleveland/Pistons series. Man he is looking like a genius right now
