if we beat the blazers in 5 that means we were significantly better than them. i think we're the better team but not by much. all the games are going to be close and down to the final minute. if rockets win in 5 then JVG is the smartest man alive. i say rockets in 6.

Exactly. It was mind boggling watching Dirk eat Scola alive while Rick Adelman sat there and did nothing until it was too late.

I disagree. I think a team can sweep another team and win every game by less than 10 points and be very evenly matched teams. I think a series outcome shows you which team is better, but it's sometimes hard to tell how much.

    Just my opinion.

JVG is a bigger Rockets fan than half the posters on this board.

This is what I'm hoping for, as well. The Rockets should be truly pissed after the Dallas game and come out ready to shut down Portland.

i dont think jvg is being a homer, he's always believed in Yao since he was here, they just didn't have the right players around him, but i think what we have now is pretty much what JVG hoped for back then, he sees we finally got Yao help, deep team, and Yao has improved and dominates opponents at times....BUT i think he's assuming we're going to use Yao correctly, so he could turn out to be right or completely wrong, but if he's wrong, then that's a knock on the team and not JVG's prediction.

Has JVG predicted any series correctly in the past? I hope his prediction is correct this time.

My biggest concern is Brooks. I still remember how Jazz left him open and let him miss those shots.

If the Rockets are perceived as overachievers and finally get out of the first round, without McGrady no less, it just makes JVG look bad. Just something to think about when wondering why he would be trying to hype them up.

Isn't it better to at least have homecourt?

it surprises me how much JVG loves this team,
even when he was fired by it.

we might not have a playoff success, but we do have playoffs experience, i mean it the first time portland in playoffs for all of their players which is a different game, while our players have played in some playoffs games like hayes, barry, battier, artest, yao and landry.

Unlike Charles Barkley he does know where he was.

I like JVG's optimism, he was even there cheering for TMac when everybody thought he was done, he was also there when Yao got his leg injury and numerous times showed respect for the organization.

    That's professionalism.

JVG is a stupid in my opinon because he actually makes sense a lot of times but because he goes overboard too much with his Rockets favoratism, nobody is buying it. For example last year, said Rafer was the third best PG in the league or something, now that's just ridiculous. Then he comes this year with the line that Yao cannot be stopped by any1, which is the truth. Nobody can stop Yao, if the refs called the games fair, Yao would've averaged 25-30 ppg easily.
