I agree. JVG preaches that if you work hard you'll play. Billy and Novak work their butt off, but still don't play.

part D...if you try to show me up, I don't care who the F$#$% you think you are, you aren't playing.....

good point though part B..you have to at least be good to play....Novak is NOT good right now...and neither is Billy....I could go into rockets practice and work my tail off but I wouldn't get to play  ...eventhough I could probably play better defense than Novak and I could commit less turnovers than Billy...I would just hold the ball and stand in one place hoping nobody rips it from me :D

The irony here to me is Sprewell, perhaps one of the biggest NBA jerks of all time, was one of Van Gundy's favorite players and I don't recall Van Gundy every having trouble with him. He even tried to get Spree to come out of retirement a year ago and join the Rockets. Not to mention, Van Gundy said that he would take five Ron Artests on his team any day.

How do you explain that in light of a couple bench players lipping off a little bit? We don't even know for sure if Snyder said or did anything other than Van Gundy didn't like his work in practice.

What have Novak and VSpan done to prove to you they're good. Enlighten us rather than trolling us.

IMO, JVG needs to hop off his high-horse. Let the players play and not feel like they have to walk on egg shells. Im beginning to think that Bonzi isnt even hurt, but rather JVG wanted an excuse not to play him. Its like he's on some sort of power trip this season...and its ridiculous!!

Yeah in world of working for a living it is best to keep your mouth shut and just do your job but if the boss is not using you to what is stated on your job description then what is a worker to do??(later part is what I am going through need my bbs bros help :) )

Not true. He preaches if you play well and give the team the best chance to win, then you'll play. Working hard is a prerequisite.

How can you play well if you're never given the chance to play? If JVG was coaching Yao his first year, he would have benched him after his 0 point opening game.

JVG didnt "punish" Rafer a couple of games ago when he got pissed off because he came out of them game did he? I mean, Rafer popped off him and he didnt do anything.

Bottom line is JVG has too much confidence in his starters and not enough for the guys off the bench

from an outsiders perspective, which we all are...

we don't necessarily know our players are mouthing off, so to speak. They could just be asking for more playing time in a respectful way and then if they dont get the answer they are looking for, they show it in practice possibly.

For example, if you had a team at work and you just started, so you are pretty much at the bottom of the totem pole. in 6 months you had a couple of team member turnovers, yet you still feel like you are at the bottom based on the assignments you are getting. Now you feel like you need to talk to your boss to find out what your actual role is and to see if you can get more important assignments, and you don't get the answer you are looking for. Im sure your work will start to slack a tad immediately, but it may pick up after a while.

i dont blame a few of the players for some of their actions....i most believe sometimes its the player and sometimes its the coach. Im sure false promises may lead to this as well

Well Novak has proven he can beat anybody at HORSE and Billy has proven he is the TMAC of Greece...isn't that enough? :D

What have they done to prove they can't? The sample size is too small. Yao would have been benched after his scoreless opening game if never given a fair shot. Just because I'm a true rockets fan and support all rockets..except rafer...no need to classify that as trolling. Guess it's easy to tell the true fans from the pretenders.

there are many other things to consider

    1. JVG's contract is about to be renewed, and it will happen only if he makes the playoffs or more

    2. JVG will not experiment new guys much...he will stick to guys he can rely each game, he knows most of the guys for years, they trust him, he trusts them

    3. JVG plain and simple does not like rookies, he will only let them play after more than half of the team is injured...

    4. JVG does not like euros, why? he things they are underdeveloped?!?!

    5. JVG values discipline and chemistry

I swear all you guys would be a lot happier cheering for the Hawks or Blazers or somebody. Then you can watch young players "develop" to your heart's content.

I heard that the team sometimes meets up on days that games aren't played. Maybe JVG saw the rookies play there.

Yeah, right. Yao was turned into a post force by JVG and his coaching staff. If Yao had been left to do as many of us fans wanted thim to do, he'd be out top somewhere setting picks and shooting jumpers.
