JVG deserves one more year with the year we had. 5th best record in the whole NBA. Just add a few right pieces here and there and we are the top 2-3 teams in the NBA.

Where the heck do you keep getting Del Harris from? Why are you absolutely certain he will be our next head coach?

I hope you are right. Either he, Rick Adelman (his defense, or lack thereof worries me though), or Mario Elie would all be acceptable though.

how can people call for mario with a straight face?

sure we all love the guy for his playing days but he has no head coaching experience. Maybe he will be great but the smart bet is to go with the proven guy. Doesnt make sense to go from a constant to a variable if you dont have to.

    1. Rick Adleman
    2. JVG

Adleman has proven experience and is well liked by Charlie Rosen. We'd finally get some love from Rosen!

Didn't the players say Rudy had them well prepared in 1995 by knowing when to apply pressure on the team and when to back down?

I understand what you are saying. However, during his analysis of the Rockets, he demonstrates to me that he knows exactly what each and every one of our players needs to do. Not to mention what the team needs to do overall.

The main sticking point for me, though, was when we lost that 7th game, he seemed genuinely disappointed and somewhat mad at how we played because he too knew we should have won that series. He said exactly what I believed we should have done to win that game. i.e. the team needed to go to the rim after we had them in the penalty with 7 minutes to go and McGrady absolutely should not have taken those jump shots at 3 and 4 minute marks.

I remember after the McGrady press conference after Game 7 where McGrady had his head down and was starting to tear up, I could visibly hear Mario saying, "Come on man, let's go" because he didn't want the fans to see McGrady like that. He seemed like he genuinely cared that we lost that game and he explained exactly why we lost.

Coupled with his previous coaching experience, that is why I would like to see him coaching the Houston Rockets. I'm not saying he's my first option, or even second, but if the Rockets organization went that direction, I'm all for it.

I'm not sure how McGrady would react though and that worries me.

DD In you first reply to the question in which you clarify the question you answer it with Yes meanind No and No meaning Yes- So possibly this is not a true pole of what Fans are thinking as they may be answering incorrectly.

I said STAY for JVG but that dosnt mean I would be open for a change...It intrigues me on how another coach would do with this team but I like JVG

you know, you're argument for having JVG leave would be valid if it weren't for the fact that you want to replace him with Rudy "Every play Isolation, no defense, all day dribble dribble" Tomjonavich. you're always complaining about JVG's lack of offensive creativity, but you think Rudy T is the answer for that? sheeez.

JVG should go but you never know what is in the works with Les. I for one will go so far as to not follow the Rockets next season if JVG comes back to coach the team. I just will not waste another season with JVG at the helm.

Exactly, all the things people complain about JVG about, Brown has those same attributes in spades!

since Van Gundy could not get a rebound in the last minute of Game 7, I say he needs to go down to the D League and work on his strength and conditioning..

He should also work on his free throws, 3 point shot, and ball handling skills... JVG causes too many turnovers!
